For more than a decade and a half, the Koblenz steelpreachers have been part of the metal scene in the city where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet, as well as the Königsbach and Koblenz breweries. Already the title of their third longplayer "Drinking With The Devil" and song titles like' Blame It On Booze' and' Hell Bent For Beer' give more than a rough indication of what the crazy trio is all about. If you put in the CD printed as a beer mat, you have to smile inevitably. Obviously the guys don't take themselves too seriously and so the ten tracks, with a playing time of less than 38 minutes, rush past you very fast. However, this does not mean that Steelpreacher should be dismissed as a pure funcombo. Behind the fluffy numbers, sometimes inspired by AC/DC or Rose Tattoo, there is a shaken (or poured) measure of musicality and professionalism. The Schängel also leave the Rock' N' Roll in the direction of blues, but only to really accelerate afterwards. It goes without saying that such music comes across much fatter live than from the can and whoever has already been allowed to attend a steelpreacher show knows what a humid and cheerful event this is. So it's no wonder that this record was chosen by the new label "A Chance For Metal"-Records, next to Dragonsfire's "Visions Of Fire" as the first release.
