Between August and September of 1984, the Argentinian band V8 entered the studio to record their second awaited album after their mighty debut with "Luchando por el metal", the first ever metal album released in Argentina. This second album was the consecration for the band, their fans were already thousands but they got more and more recognition with this new LP. Fans were totally eclipsed by the bands lyrics, reflecting the dictatorship times, the pain and frustrations of the whole society. Also the band gained more reputation as they always tried to play in every country's corner. The new songs were still fast, direct and a little better played than the previous one so this album helped them to gain the cult status in their country and the rest of the metal world. It was 1979, while the argentine dictatorship, when Ricardo Iorio and Ricardo Moreno decided to start a band called Comunion Humana, oriented to heavy and rock sound. Two months later some tracks were arranged and Gerardo Osemberg joinedém as drummer.They had some names such as Hydra, Bloke or RGR but finally V8 was taken as monicker for the band, inspired by the engines and also for the speed, energy and intensity the band showed on their new songs.During 1980-1982 the band started to play lots of shows, shows that were filled of dramatic incidents: disturbances, detentions...enclosed deaths. For this reasons the image of the band was totally conditioned and people started to hate them. In 1982 they recorded their legendary demo-tape and with this release the band got some more attention from others countries places away from Buenos Aires. Lots of gigs, some of them totally sold out and some with a total lack of interest from the crowd due to their rockers' image and attitude. The people couldn't get their shows as the band wanted, full of energy, decibels and tacks. In 1983 they recorded their debut album "Luchando por el metal" (Fighting for the metal) with their classic line-up: Ricardo Iorio bass, Osvaldo Civile guitar, Alberto Zarmarbide voice and Gustavo Rowek on drums.Throughout the years (the band stopped their activity in 1987) they recorded more albums and the status grew up making the band as a reference for many metalheads all around the world and also for all those people who enjoy musicmade behind very weird and opposite situations as this argentinen in the 80s for the political situation in the country.V8 were chased, ill-treated and despised for their social lyrics and also for the incidents they had in every show the played. As we told before, there was a tragedy in Estadio Platense, where the fight with the police caused some dead people, making a very bad image off the band for the rest.Beat Generation is more than proud to release this record, for the first time officially, a total cult piece of southamerican metal.
