From the outset, SHOCK THERAPY were surrounded by rumors of their sprawling drug consumption. The band released their first EP, entitled "SHOCK THERAPY" in 1985, and immediately made the breakthrough. The first pressing was already sold out after two weeks. The CD release of "HATE IS A 4-LETTERWORD" sold 28,000 times straight away and the song "Hate is a 4-Letter Word" of the same name is one of the underground hits that still plays regularly in every indie disco has been. SHOCK THERAPY, these are songs in which beautiful melodies and provocative lyrics are in constant resistance. Instead of being burnt out by the early glory like so many other bands of that time, they kept a pleasant, exciting freshness, and so their style could further strengthen. In the years 1984 to 1997 SHOCK THERAPY presented twelve albums and traveled to Europe again and again to tour there. Itchy Gregory John McCormick died tragically in Detroit / USA in 2008, shortly after his release from prison where he spent several years. I Am Surprised Records now publishes the SHOCK THERAPY catalog in co-operation with Itchy's widow and manages the musical heritage which will provide some of the surprises in the form of publications and activities to keep the Itchy-SHOCK THERAPY's creative work to a fair amount And present. That's were Screamers & Sinners were formed in 2012 and this Banda de Psychobilly revives the traditional style with some luscious local flavor. Since the release of debut 'Demon Tales' they've been making the rounds in Europe and their second album ¶he Revenge of...El Sacamantecas' will gain them far more recognition. Adorned with distinct artwork by Sol Rac and produced in Nekrosounds Studios by Andy Laaf (ex-Mad Sin, now drummer for Ghostmaker), this is already a favorite for 2017. El Sacamantecas is an evildoer in Hispanic folklore, somewhat similar to the Bogeyman, but this creature kills for baby blood and human fat. What kind of deal Screamers & Sinners have struck with the demon remains an enigma, but they certainly had fat by the bucketloads to grease their bloody catchy songs, along with howling sax and hillbilly harmonica, meanwhile mixing up English with their native tongue. Next to eleven ace originals is one obscure classic: hogate' from the Basque punk band RIP, which is modified into a certified psycho anthem. digipak. After multiple listens of DYNATRON's latest album, Aeternus, the first word that pops in my mind to describe the album is not one which describes atmosphere or tone. Instead, it is the word meticulous. More than anything, Aeternus is a meticulous album. The attention to detail that Jeppe Hasseriis displays is impressive, and is (even beyond the crisp production) the primary reason that this album works so well. Throttle Up, DYNATRON's previous EP, was a very solid release, and the first album I ever reviewed for NRW. Aeternus improves on something good that was established and pushes it into new and more mature territory. This album feels more confident, and deservedly so. Just about every track on it delivers.
