But despite his status remaining fairly low-key among the general public, even 50 years after his recording debut, he can boast an army of famous fans ranging from Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen to Billy Bragg and R.E.M.In 1970, Prine was the upcoming bright, young hope in and around the Chicago folk clubs, most notably the 5th Peg, where he would often perform at open mic nights. In August 1970, one such show at the 5th Peg was recorded for live FM broadcast, and this recording makes up the first part of this CD. The second part comes from a little later the same year, when legendary Chicago DJ and presenter Studs Terkel invited the young performer onto his radio show at 98.7 WFM Chicago, to play a further set of songs on live radio.These two sessions remain the earliest known recordings of John Prine and remain in near perfect quality for all to enjoy, half a century after they were recorded

The second physical release for Dogs Love Company, a folk/blues band from Catignano (Pescara, Italy), is a 5-track EP presenting original arrangements of folk melodies from the traditions of Central and Southern Italy, particularly from Abruzzo and Puglia. Three songs (“Lu Furastiero”, “Mo Ve’ la Bella Mia da la Muntagna”, “La Notte è Bella”) come from the repertoire of Matteo Salvatore (1925-2005) who composed hundreds of ballads telling stories of the poor people working hard in the fields and living in small villages in old time Italy. Two other tracks are entirely rearranged traditionals from Abruzzo: “Mare Maje” (also known as “Scura Maje”, which has a Balkan origin) and “Nebbi’a la Valle” (which is also known as “Addije, addije amore” and that also became “Amara Terra Mia” in a reworking by Domenico Modugno with words Enrica Bonaccorti). The band, formed in 2000 as a duo by Danilo Di Giampaolo (voice) and Victor Mazzetta (guitar), later evolved in a larger group including Daniele Di Pentima (drums), Norman Cieri (fisa) and Claudio Bonetti (double bass) provides an original touch on every track, giving new life to the old melodies. The lineup for the EP includes Danilo Di Giampaolo (voice), Victor Mazzetta (guitar) and Daniele Di Pentima (percussions). Mixed by Angelo Scogno (Sonus Factor). A music video for “Mare Maje” has been filmed in the ancient village of Corvara (Pescara) by Tiziano Ciccone.
