Swedish crustpunk horde, Martyrdöd, are among the newest crop of heavy, brutal, metallic crust-influenced bands to join the Southern Lord cult. In a scene overabundant with clones of the founding/front running acts of the genre, Martyrdöd manage to remain heavily unique in their filth-ridden approach. While undeniably influenced by acts like Anticimex, Bathory, and Totalitär, the band intertwines their crust roots with sinister, haunting soundscapes and unique blackened riff attacks. Paranoia was recorded at the infamous Studio Fredman (At the Gates, Amon Amarth, Opeth) by Fredrik Nordström in the dead of a chilling Swedish winter! The riffs are raw and powerful, with haunting melodies colliding with a storm of raw sonic shrapnel. Both Martyrdöd guitarists are veterans of the Swedish metal scene also playing in: Skitsystem, At the Gates, Agrimonia, Miasmal, etc... This New York-based death metal combo released their first and last album 1992. After a few demos and a couple of seven inches Baphomet were signed to Peaceville, which led to the underground death metal classic album "The Dead Shall Inherit". After the album Baphomet were forced to change their name to Banished due to another Baphomet in Germany, but that is another story. "A Shadowplay For Yesterdays" is the third album by A Forest Of Stars. After last year's new editions of "The Corpse Of Rebirth" (2008) and "Opportunistic Thieves Of Spring" (2010), this record is the real Lupus Lounge / Prophecy Productions debut by the group. While their first two albums hinted at the huge potential of the collective, "A Shadowplay ..." is aspiring for even greater things, surpassing itself in the process. Why does talent not need a big promotion and marketing campaign to be on the spotlight? Adrift can easily be the perfect example to answer this. Way before delivering their first album the band had already became one of the most respected post-metal bands in Spain. The band's popularity and evergrowing audience has always been led mainly from word of mouth, after years of rocking the venues with their overwhelming live shows. A must see band that has earned reputation among metal heads as the most stunning stage performers within our borders. Hailing from Madrid, this four-veteran combo (Jaime, Jorge, Dani and Macón) formed in 1999 has been cultivating sonic exploration and deeply emotional outpourings since its inception. It has always been Adrift's goal to create music with enough power to convey emotion in itself rather than taking shelter in swelling words: "lyrics is one aspect that we really do not put as much focus as with music... we look more into the purely instrumental aspect of the voice", says drummer Jaime. Their compositions also reflect this underlying spirit honing an abrasive, atmospheric and high-powered interpretation of the most technical sludge-hardcore-doom standards. After a demo and a previous single, the band began to gain traction outside of underground circles due to their self-released EP Troya in 2005. Monolito (Monolith), their debut album in 2008, settled their songwriting foundations and fully define their dark and nuanced sound style. As a result, the band won endorsements from press (MondoSonoro's #2 National Metal Album of the Year) and fellow musicians alike (Wolves in the Throne Room, Hamlet), despite of any promotion as their record label folded a week later of the album release. Like any metal band worth its salt, Adrift followed up by touring nearly non-stop across the country in a three year span of time, appeared in international festivals (Bracara Extreme Fest) and performed dates along with Entombed, Wolves in the Throne, Cult of Luna, Yaphet Kotto or Machetazo. In 2012, Adrift have finally announced the release of their sophomore album, 'Black Heart Bleeds Black'.
