Re-issue! Hobbs' Angel of Death was formed in January 1987 in Melbourne, initially as a solo project for ex-Tyrus guitarist Peter Hobbs. With the help of ex-Nothing Sacred members, Karl Lean (bass guitar), Sham Littleman (drums) and Mark Woolley (guitar), the band recorded two demos, Angel of Death and Virgin Metal Invasion from Down Under, that attracted interest from overseas labels. They are one of the first Australian groups to perform European style thrash metal. Although playing traditional style thrash metal, Hobbs described his band's sound as "virgin metal" – a pure form of music. In February and March 1988, they were at Musiclab studios in Berlin to record their debut self-titled album, Hobbs' Angel of Death. Produced by Harris Johns, it was released in July on German label Steamhammer Records, and "became a best-seller in Europe"

Umbra ", the first full-length album of the Icelander ALMYRKVI offers from the first note on dragging, intensive and lead-heavy tones that do not seem to be from this earth. You feel kidnapped into strange deep-black galaxies, only the punctuated clear vocals provide a few shimmering lights in the oppressive darkness. The songs seem complex - but they are catchy, if you get fully involved with them. There is no room for superficiality here, ALMYRKVI on "Umbra" offer anything but light food, but once you have understood the message, you will be carried away by the energy and dynamics of the music uncompromisingly. Friends of blastbeat orgies should be warned here, however, such passages will be searched for in vain on "Umbra". It's hard to give tips for playing, because the pieces form such a self-contained unit, from which you don't want to tear out a single part. This masterpiece is rounded off by a perfect sound that concentrates on the essentials and avoids any artificial frills. For all those who have now licked blood, it should be noted that ALMYRKVI will perform together with SINMARA and some other congenial bands at the Celebrare Noctem festival in the Alte Schlachthof in Wels on 02.12.2017. Conclusion: Not a work for the masses, but anyone who is willing to deal with music outside the mainstream of metal can and should do so without hesitation!

Being honest with all you boys and girls that read our page, it’s the first time I listen to such esquisite black metal effort like Sortilegia “Sulphurous Temple.” Instrumental parts prevail in “Sulphurous Temple.” Except occasional voices, voice effects, terrorized screams and yells from hell, voices are scarse in this “Sulphurous Temple.” That doesn’t bother me at all, as a matter of fact. I just got puzzled. First of all, we must praise this kind of iniciative. It’s not easy to write an album like “Sulphurous Temple.” That happens because in a genre like Metal, the voice is kind of a guidance to the instrumental. It doesn’t only shine, the voice guides and gives some brilliant atmosphere. Sortilegia with “Sulphurous Temple” took for granted the no concessions to any kind of media that’s part of black metal. If you have no singing, you have no chorus, it means that you give less chances to be any kind of commercial. Pretty valid to me. There’s one more point to be said that is you give more chances to the instrumental. Musicians have to use more of their criativity. There are few voices to diverse from the instrumental. Sortilegia with “Sulphurous Temple,” voices are to create an atmosphere of despair. Talking about the instrumental, we must praise the drummer. The way the tempo is guided diverse the common listener in “Sulphurous Temple.“ One must say it is completely out, but it’s only doubling the single tempo. Very good job. “Sulphurous Temple” is a pretty solid effort. There are no ups and downs among tracks. They all have a logical structure that guides them. Sortilegia did a very good job in “Sulphurous Temple.” Even more when you know that they are a two men band. On second thought, sometimes it’s best. There are a few people to quarrel about.

Coronatus is a symphonic metal band from Ludwigsburg, Germany. And they will release their new album "Secrets Of Nature" on Massacre Records on December 8,2017! The album comes along with a few innovations: CORONATUS present their first concept album, on which everything revolves around the topic of natural mysticism and about hidden and unknown phenomena and mystical creatures as well as nature itself and its meaning for us humans. Soprano Carmen Lorch is supported by the rock voice of Mareike Makosch (Illuminate, Sister Zero) and soprano Gaby Koss (ex-Haggard, Cantus Lunaris), while Teddy Möhrke (Tales Of Nebelheim) contributes the male vocals. Bloodred Hourglass, also known as BRHG, is a metal band from Mikkeli, Finland. The history of the project roots back to 2005, when the first self-made demo was scratched together. The band's accolades already before getting signed include a notable bunch of festival appearances at major Finnish festivals and even some radio airplay, the latter being a thing which in Finnish corporate media climate is about as common as encountering a snowbird in Hell. The band’s first full length studio album “Lifebound” was released in 2012 with the help of the Finnish metal behemoth, Spinefarm Records. Due to unfortunate circumstances (changes in the label personnel) the co-operation was called quits soon after. Three years later, it was time for the band’s second outing: the crushing "Where the Oceans Burn" was released to critical acclaim via OneManArmy Records in October 2015. Bloodred Hourglass combines elements and influences from various different musical genres, main focus obviously being on metal. Fast drum patterns, thrashy riffage among big guitar walls, a lot of melodic atmosphere due to keyboards together with growling and screaming aggressive vocals are the main architects behind the sound of this five man band. Despite the variety of influences and different type of elements you can hear in their material, the band feels their music is closest to be described as melodic death metal. Feet firmly planted on the ground the band’s lyrical themes are focused on individual’s experience of everyday life, as well as aspects of environmental issues. In January of 2017 this year, BRHG finished the recordings of their next album titled "Heal", released via Ranka Kustannus. “Heal’s” lavish melodies and riff-your-face-off rifforama sees BRHG taking a progressive leap and entering the upper echelon of Finnish band ready for international breakthrough
