digipak. Evolution is a long and complex process, which requires several, if not many different phases. Hornwood Fell, from the woods of central Italy, now reach the third landmark in their career, and keep on changing. Started from an all-round, classic and nineties-oriented black metal debut in 2014, the trio began adding new elements to their music on the sophomore album “Yheri” and now, with their new opus “My Body, My Time”, they are still walking along the path of evolution. Such change is quite eloquent from the very artworks that complete each of the band’s three albums. At first it was the wood, in its greeny and yellowy grey, surrounding a small, dark human figure; then man became prominent, in a suffering, fading shriek painted in blue, the woods just a frame in the background. Now it is pink, man the only true character in the picture, holding a timepiece, as if the band wanted to focus on humanity, leaving nature behind. Similar conclusions can be drawn when looking at Hornwood Fell language: what began as forest poetry in Italian, soon became English, and now is not even forest poetry anymore, with song titles such as “Her Name” and “The Livid Body”. Musically, sharp riffs are now mixed with more intricate patterns, the odd psychedelic hints sprout here and there, but what is mostly surprising is a completely new approach to vocals. The debut was a shrieking, earsplitting and raw lament, the sophomore album was a combination of screams and clean vocals, but here guitarist and vocalist Marco Basili renews his whole repertoire. Spanning from crystal-clean singing in the vein of bands like Novembre, to darker, harsher performances, this new approach brings the band way farther from the Norwegian forests of their beginnings and leads them towards personal, uncharted lands. The straight, uncompromising yet derivative attitude of their self-titled debut has become more surprising, unpredictable and varied. Mid-tempos, bass-led bridges and effects are now paramount in Hornwood Fell music, as well as a totally new range of vocal expression.. Record Label: Avantgarde Style: Black Metal

Mind the Drift is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Big Business. Jared Waren (Karp) and Coady Willis (Murder City Devils) formed Big Business in 2003 in Seattle, Washington. They released their first two full length albums in 2005 (Head For The Shallow) and in 2007 (Here Come the Waterworks). At the time of the 2009 Mind the Drift release, producer/engineer extraordinaire Toshi Kasai (Willie Nelson, Foo Fighters) had been playing guitar with Big Business for a while. And in the months before the record was made, Jared and Coady had been touring pretty heavily with the Melvins. I think we wanted to elevate the songs and make it really grand, like a Queen record, says Coady. It's definitely the hardest record we've made to this day. The session was plagued with technical glitches from the getgo, so it felt like we never picked up any momentum. To my memory, it always felt like we were under this insane time crunch every step of the way. So as you can i magine the fun factor was pretty low. Jared Waren (Karp) and Coady Willis (Murder City Devils) formed Big Business in 2003 in Seattle, Washington. Their first fulllength album ( Head For The Shallow ) was released in 2005, followed by Here Come the Waterworks in 2007. The timeline of writing and recording Here Come the Waterworks is intertwined with the band's move to Los Angeles to play with the Melvins. Although Jared and Coady had not yet toured with the Melvins, they were living and practicing in L.A., and had just recorded (a)Senile Animal with the legendary and highly influential doom metal band. At this point, most of the songs on Here Come the Waterworks were fully formed. Big Business headed back up to Seattle to once again record with Phil Ek at AVAST! Studios. David Scott Stone was along to play guitar, with the idea that he would also become a permanent member of the band, but it became clear as recording progressed that he wasn't able to meet the strict demands of being in a touring band.
