In 2012 METROLAND appeared as a fresh new band to the electronic scene with no demo history at all. Today, METROLAND invites everyone to enjoy their fascinating ride again, spanning over a period of 5 years, with the release of a conceptual 4CD compilation box entitled "12x12", containing over 250 minutes of rare and previously unreleased songs, mixes or versions. The "12x12"-box mainly contains tracks that were never released on physical format before, next to a plethora of unreleased tracks. All 12 releases, including their newest single "Cube", are presented by conceptual artwork. A card per release contains photographs and the story behind each single song. For the celebration of their 35th anniversary year of existence in 2016, Belgian electronic music pioneers FRONT 242 decided to re-release several of their albums together with Alfa Matrix, their partner in crime over the last 15 years now… For the occasion “Pulse + Still & Raw” and “No Comment + Politics Of Pressure” will be re=released on vinyl and in a deluxe vinyl box edition, FRONT 242 also decided to re-release the rerecorded & remastered 2004 edition of their debut album “Geography” as a deluxe collector box edition. In August 2015 METROLAND suffered a tragic blow when their sound engineer and very close friend Louis Zachert, the group's Passenger L, passed away. As a personal tribute, Passengers A and S created a complete new album from scratch, where every song, every note and the featured cd art is their way of saying thank you and goodbye to their close friend and fellow passenger. The 11 titles on the album each describe or embody what Louis means to the band in general and to both Passengers on a personal level: his witty e-mail headers, the name of his recording studio, his genuine love for synthetic music, his other musical projects and, especially, life itself. When comparing the music on this album to former releases, the listener will surely notice a darker, slightly mellow edge, while rediscovering the typical METROLAND sound that clearly toys with sounds from analogue synthesizers, pulsating rhythms and effective samples. This 3rd release is not just an album, it's a profound production filled with sentiment and a heartfelt message to every one out there, but to Louis Zachert in particular: "Things will never sound the same again"… This album is not a commercial product.
