As a special goodie, »Seasons Of The Black« comes with a bonus CD of six songs, which some die-hard fans from the beginning probably have in their record collections, in the form of »Prayers Of Steel«, RAGE’s debut album from 1985 and the EP »Depraved To Black« from the same year that were released under the band’s original name AVENGER. “This CD is a gift to our fans and to ourselves”, says the RAGE frontman. “These songs are among the earliest ones I have ever written and since they were released under our old band name back then, but are RAGE songs, of course, we have re-recorded these tracks to bring them home, so to speak. These songs are timeless and still work perfectly and it was great fun to re-record them with the current line-up.” Just like the previous album, »Seasons Of The Black« was recorded at the Megafon studios in Burscheid, Germany and at the Soundchaser studios in Zandhoven, Belgium and produced by the band itself. Once again, the renowned Dan Swanö contributed the mix and mastering, and the impressive artwork was created by Karim König

The album was tracked at Kick Recording and 16th Cellar studios in Rome, and was mixed and mastered by the world-renowned Jens Bogren (AMON AMARTH, AT THE GATES, ARCH ENEMY) at Fascination Street studio in Sweden. Drummer/songwriter Francesco Paoli commented recently about the album: "The new album is called King. It's a concept album. It took longer this time but I believe it's a sign of more maturity and determination within the band. We can't release something mediocre just because it's enough to keep things rolling. I believe the music world requires people to work harder on their material and that is what FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE is set to do in this ew middle age' era. At the end of the day, quality is the final goal, right? That's why our expectations in our music and writing become higher every time we approach the stage of creating a new album. Singer Jari Mäenpää on the upcoming longplayer: This album is simpler and more organic than what I normally do, but of course it also remains modern, melodic, epic and bombastic - it's even a little shocking here and there. It's new and different, but still a WINTERSUN album, although we as a band know no limits and techno, trance or pop if necessary would not stop. With 53 minutes it is longer than "Time I" and for a change I am 100% happy with the sound and the production. This album sounds good on any sound system, whether with speakers or headphones and as a WINTERSUN fan you will not be disappointed. Even if you are not fans, you could still enjoy the diversity. The "The Forest Seasons" album was something I could record with my current lower resources, but that still makes it a strong piece of music, because music can not be measured in money. Albums costing a hundred euros are sometimes just as good as albums that cost one million (but the unfortunate thing is that some albums can only be released with high-end production). The new album consists of four epic and monumental tracks, all of which are very different and interrelate, just like the four seasons.
