Dust-dry desert blues, accomplished stoner rock and African polyrhythms come together rousingly on the multilingual new Songhoy Blues album "Optimisme", which was released by The Quartet in 2012 as an act of rebellion in Mali and has since been considered one of the most exciting African band projects. In the 11 "Optimisme" songs, the band presents itself significantly more rocking, harder and more powerful than on the previous two albums "Music In Exile" (2015) and "Résistance" (2017).
