Aymeric Maini got his first electric guitar when he was only eight years old. It would be the beginning of a lifetime passion. Twenty years later, Aymeric Maini played more than 300 concerts. He started to decipher and learn songs by ear, starting with his father’s records - Buddy Guy, Bill Deraime, Eric Clapton, BB King, Marc Knopfler - and then anything he could find from George Brassens to Serge Gainsbourg. After a while, playing guitar became a challenge and at 12 the goal was to manage to play the hardest solos; Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Metallica and then Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. At 15 Aymeric joined his first band to play his own solos. It’s only later when he discovered Ben Harper and Ray Charles that he found out that the voice could be an instrument of its own as moving as the guitar. He then immersed himself in Rhythm and Blues, Soul and Funk: Al Green, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, James Brown. In 2007 he learnt the principles of guitar making, and the techniques of adjustments and repairs. Later he became the international project manager of a French guitar brand but in 2010 he left the company to become a full-time artist and musician… After a few bands (More Diplomacy, Dtwice) and a few concerts (over 150 shows with David Le Deunff of Hocus Pocus), Aymeric released his first solo EP in 2013 and his first album, Sun Is Back On The Way, in 2016. After sharing the stage with Maceo Parker, Lucky Peterson, Santana, The Cranberries, and many more, Aymeric received the prestigious "Cognac Blues Passion" award in 2017. Today Aymeric Maini is back with a new album entitled Winter Sun. Taking a break from his intensive touring, Aymeric took the tame to write alone these 9 new songs in a small room, far from anything superfluous. More refined, more acoustic, more authentic, this new record is marked with a sensitivity that the songwriter of today takes on board fully. Winter Sun gives way to songs, stories, acoustic guitars, voices, pianos and cellos, in a sweet melancholy as soothing as the thrill of a winter sun.
