During the last couple of years we have been flooded with punk-socialized singer-songwriters with tattoos, beards, and rough charm. And if we are honest we must admit that we usually do not remember much else about them on the day after that comfy unplugged concert in our favorite bar around the corner. There are just too many of them, and too few whose songs are memorable enough to make a lasting impression. But sometimes, in some very few instances, we find ourselves suddenly leaning forward, stopping our conversations and getting carried away by a song, by a voice and a guitar. Tobias Heiland, a.k.a. GHOST OF A CHANCE, is such an instance. Sure, he has played in hardcore bands before, just like all the other guys, and he also has tattoos and wears flannel shirts. Fair enough, but beside the point. The difference is that his songs, soaked in American folk, indie and blues, sound incredibly mature, honest, and heartfelt. His music itself is substantial enough that it can do without big, flashy effects. Almost exactly two years ago, Midsummer Records released GHOST OF A CHANCE's debut album "And Miles To Go Before I Sleep". Now, after tours with Frank Turner and Dark Dark Dark, as well as countless other shows, Midsummer is proud to present "Shorelines", an EP containing four brand new songs that will once again send shivers down our spines, make us pause and listen, and hopefully get us through the long winter - because the second full length album is slated for release in spring 2013 Record Label: Midsummer Style: Singer/Songwriter
