Although a debut for the Johnny Parry Chamber Orchestra, an ensemble of thirty-plus players, this album follows on from Johnny's solo record "More Love and Death', which was called "a piano led thing of beauty" by Timeout, "Extraordinary!" by Rolling Stone, and described as "genius" by MusicEmissions, Daily Vault, and Bearded Magazine. It received generous radio support after a thirty-date tour around Europe, including repeat plays on BBC Radio 3 and 6Music. The uplifting harmonies of opener eep Kicking & Screaming' (which will feature on the upcoming cover CD of The Word) possess a Beirut-esque gaiety, in contrast to the melancholy funeral march of ie In A Hole' and od Still Loves Me', where Parry's gravelly vocals assume a Leonard Cohen or Tom Waits-like holiness.
