Most known for delivering sweaty punkrock and fast punchy records, JUNKSTARS came to be in Stockholm, Sweden 2012. JUNKSTARS is a three piece band with Max Malmquist on guitar and lead vocals, Mathias Wanneberg on drums and Tobbe Ljungqvist on bass. Drawing inspiration from both old and new punk and rock, the band has built up a unique sound consisting of a combination of three accords, kick-ass attitude, and loads of energy! Since their humble start in 2012 JUNKSTARS have already become tour veterans, having done numerous gigs and tours around Scandinavia and Europe. In 2014 the band went on a 13 country European tour with Crucified Barbara and Supercharger. Come November, they will embark on a European tour with Backyard Babies. Junkstars released their first full length album "With A Twist Of Lemon" in 2012 followed by the album "French Hot Dog" in 2013. Now JUNKSTARS are releasing their third album "This Means War". Here's what they have to say about it: "We recorded the album live in 5 days with only vocals, one guitar, bass and drums. We wanted to write and make an album that we really liked our selves and we wanted to portray who we are, what we do and how we live. So the whole album is just made on feeling; right here, right now. No polished shit. Band-wise , we believe that we are moving more and more to our roots and what we liked as kids and what we really want to play on stage. With a twist of lemon. That's the name of JUNKSTARS new debut album. And you better watch out, because the new generation of punk-rock is just about to attack our ears. The album was produced by Thomas Skogsberg, whom is close to legendary trough his Sunlight studio, where acts such as Entombed, Backyard Babies and Hellacopters have recorded their music. JUNKSTARS consists of four guys from Stockholm, Sweden, all with rock in their hearts. This especially emerges at live performances, as it is a joy to behold them with their exuberant energy.
