The Berlin based band La Batterie (Pascal Aperdannier and Anne Paschvoß) will release their new album on June, 8th, 2012 on Cake And Coffee Records. Following their last album "He Ate A Lamp Now He's A Fan" (LP/CD, Cake And Coffee Records, 2008) and shows around Europe, they wrote and recorded "Firemen's Parade On Main Street" (named after a song by the American composer Charles Ives). With this, their third album, despite availing themselves of pop music's instruments and structures, they once again diverge from classical songwriting and successfully elude categorisation in any particular genre. La Batterie don't emanate from the idea of a band, but rather from the idea of the song, which is conceived from the outset as an open structure, a domain in which to batten ideas. The fact that in the end these ideas add up to a song appears before the astonished listener as a kind of miracle.
