MAHAKALA are an occult heavy metal band hailing from Athens, Greece, consisted of Jim Kotsis (bass, vocals), Nick Angelopoulos (guitars, backing vocals), Steve Lado (guitars) and Kostas Savidis (drums). On 2005 the quartet recorded its debut, self titled EP which was released on 2007 by Spanish indie label Parade Records (Abscess, Machetazo, Moho, Monarch, Lords Of Bukkake). This first piece, limited to 1000 copies and mainly influenced by old school punk, early heavy rock and the 90's stoner/ sludge rock movement, nearly sold out and received extremely positive reviews by the worldwide press, followed up by powerful live appearances in their hometown, Athens, Greece. On 2009, having undergone several line-up changes, Jim took up lead vocal duties. The sludgey sound of the first EP turned into a 70's fueled satanic heavy metal hybrid in the vein of their favorite 80's metal bands. Hitting the stage for the first time with their new line-up, they gave away 300 numbered copies of their "Pact With The Devil" self financed EP for free. On 2011 they entered Sierra Studios with producer Stelios "S_fx" Efentakis (Gardenbox, 27, Ekos Quartet, Vodka Juniors, Sun Of Nothing) and recorded 100% live the "Devil's Music" full length album which is to be released on the 1st of March, 2013 by Supreme Music Creations and Secret Port Records.
