Christian Smith caught the electronic bug while still at school, by the time he had hit University he had captured the ear of many of the world’s most prominent DJs, including Carl Cox. It wasn’t long before he was travelling the world playing his unique bend of techno to huge crowds in between monster studio sessions that seen him become one of the most prolific artists on the scene. His label, Tronic, which he started as a vehicle to release his own productions, became one of the standard bearers for the genre. Nowadays he chooses to be very selective with remix projects, he just doesn’t have the time to do everything he is offered, he also has a musical integrity that forbids him to accept a project merely on financial grounds, a refreshing attitude at a time where commercialism attempts to infiltrate all forms of dance music.
