Formed in late 2013 The Voluntears are a five piece indie rock band from the North East of England. The band quickly landed support slots with up and coming local bands such as Slydigs, The Spitfires and pop rockers The Natives as well as more established bands like The Rifles. They have also played festivals with Scouting for Girls, Adam Ant, Hugh Cornwell (The Stranglers), Dodgy, Simple Minds, The Sherlocks and The Jackson's just to name a few. The band has received continued support from BBC radio Tees, BBC radio Newcastle, BBC radio Lancashire and radio Hartlepool. More recently, the band has been supporting James at Hardwick Live (22nd August) and will have the album launch party at the Newcastle O2 Academy on 1st October 2015 where they will headline (3rd attachment). Their video ‘And I Know’ won MUZU TV competition for best first video and was broadcast on 25 channels in 7 countries resulting in 57,000 views on YouTube in just 3 months. This band is buzzing!
