Abner Jay is an extraordinary one-man-band with one of the deepest emotive voices ever recorded. "Man Walked On The Moon" features Abner material from two different periods. Side A opens with an early deep 1970's version of his signature song "I'm So Depressed," which has never before been reissued on LP. The hit is followed by four previously unreleased songs from the same period - "The Royal Palm" (a classic train song), "Old Black Joe," "I'm A Hard Working Man," and his paen to space travel, "Man Walked On The Moon." All are sung and played by Abner with his standard one man band set up - electric banjo, drums played by his feet, and harmonica. Side B of the LP features Abner's emotionally charged last recordings. These were made two months before Abner passed away, and here we find him pensively playing acoustic guitar and singing. The songs are incredibly emotional and not for the faint of heart. These mournful tracks were previously released on a Mississippi 10" EP back in 2011 ("Last Ole Minstrel Man") and is long out-of- print. This LP collects some of Abner's greatest work from across his career, all rare or previously unreleased classics! LP comes housed in an old school "tip on" jacket and includes a 20 page booklet with photos and a loving tribute to Abner Jay written by Jack Teague.

The New Moon Jelly Roll Freedom Rockers were formed in January 2008 when the musician brothers Luther & Cody Dickinson joined blues greats Charlie Musselwhite, Alvin Youngblood Hart and the late Memphis pianist for a guitar jam with former Squirrel Nut Zippers leader Jimbo Mathus. Producer and music stylist Jim Dickinson gathered for a self-described "hardcore blues" recording under the group name New Moon Jelly Roll Freedom Rockers. For more than 12 years the existence of this recording was only darkly mentioned in interviews and was called a great old school recording by these few witnesses. In the early 1900s Béla Bartók was introduced to the folk music of the Romanian people in Transylvania. His immediate infatuation with the music led him to a lifelong pursuit to record and catalog these beautiful regional pieces. Bartók spent eight years traveling the Romanian countryside recording and transcribing these pieces, which he would spend the rest of his life collating into six catalogs containing over three thousand tunes, simply entitled Romanian Folk Music. The composer’s own compositions would be influenced at every level by his folk studies. A lull after the electronically ambient album 'The Invisible Man ' (2001) MARK EITZEL'S recording output was followed by two releases: a covers album 'Music For Courage And Confidence' (2002) and an album of solo and AMERICAN MUSIC CLUB songs re-interpretations 'The Ugly American' (2003) performed by a band with traditional Greek musicians.
