The French house and disco pioneer Dimitri from Paris joins Vito of Aeroplane for a purely disco track, old school and enjoyable, accompanied by a remix of Yuksek, all this on Partyfine, Yuksek's label whose releases of the last few months assert an insolent vitality and the refusal of the ambient gloom.

DJ Don Carlos (born Carlo Troja, from Varese-Italy) with his productions in the 90s has become one of the cult producers for DJs around the world. His track Alone released in 1991 for Calypso (under the Irma Records label) was and still is one of the classics of House Music, played by all the major American and British DJs. At the time of its publication it was considered an underground song and therefore did not sell very much, but over the years its myth has grown thanks to its subsequent productions as for example his second single, the EP entitled Mediterraneo, title which it will then inspired his first CD album printed in the USA with the same title. Several other singles followed, another album, always printed only in the USA, entitled Aqua, from which a triple promo vinyl was extracted which today is one of the artist's most requested rarities. In Italy his third album was released in 2002 entitled The Music In My Mind where Kim Mazelle, Michelle Weeks, Taka Boom and Kevin Bryant were present as vocal guests. In 2009 a collection of the first two albums released in the USA titled Mediterraneo-Club Favourite Collection '90-98 and in 2010 his fourth album entitled The Cool Deep which reproduced the sounds closest to his first productions. Also active as a remixer for Italian and international labels, one of his most important works is the remix of Byron Stingily of the song You Make Me Feel of which he made a worldwide hit. As a producer he also used other pseudonyms such as Montego Bay, Aquanuts, Sotterranea and Love 2 Love Orchestra. He has played and plays in different countries such as London, New York, Miami and at various festivals, such as the Robot and the Stickermule Festival in an evening with Apparat, Derrick May, DJ Koze, Lil 'Louis, Young Marco and Ellen Allien, LTJ Xperience .His peculiarity has always been the musicality of his productions, thanks to the various musicians who accompanied him in the studio, which created a sound that defined in the 90s some of the House's subgenres such as Paradise House and the Ambient House. And this is the kind of sound that compose this new release of Don Carlos entitled Livin a Dream (the name of his Radio Show). It is a collection of unreleased tracks or alternative versions of tracks all produced in the 90s, collected on a double vinyl of 12 tracks and a double CD of 22. The productions made by the artist in those years were numerous and therefore a selection work was done in his archive to find the best of his sound that has remained unpublished to date!

Booka Shade reveal their ninth studio album as April welcomes the arrival of ‘Dear Future Self’ on Blaufield Music. Leaders, purveyors and pioneers within the emotive, melodic realms of house and techno, German duo Booka Shade have remained at the forefront of the scene for over 25 years. From beautiful sunsets at the beach to industrial warehouses, big festivals to the smallest clubs, only the essentials made it onto the album." - Booka Shade Title cut and opener ‘Dear Future Self’ alongside South African spoken word artist Lazarusman and the bubbling ‘Red Medina’ provide early examples of this ethos, with both tracks featuring previously on the label but equally finding their place within the project with ease, a nod to their approach within their ever-evolving live sets. ‘Polar Lights’ featuring fellow Berlin based artist ‘Joplyn’ and ‘Perfect In A Way’ with Icelandic vocalist Kaktus Einarsson combine smooth vocal melodies with darker synths to balance light and dark to offer some trademark Booka Shade soundscapes, whilst previously released tracks such as ‘Sacred’, ‘I Go, I Go’, and ‘Torch’ undergo slick re-worked interpretations, with the resulting productions providing a fresh take for the new decade. ‘Acid Brain’ and ‘Rigera’ up the energy via sweeping leads and crisp percussion, whilst ’To The Sea’ featuring Eli & Fur provides yet another dynamic as slow-blooming melodies and organic percussion go to work alongside further infectious vocal work. ‘Plexus 3AM’ offers up playful tones backed by more menacing and hypnotic bass licks, whilst ’NZ Modular’ takes cues from its title as off-kilter analogue synths go to work amongst crunchy drums and sweeping atmospherics, before closing proceedings with ‘Atlantic Beam’ - a production which has already proved to be a favourite amongst both their own sets, but also for a number of leading names within the scene to date. Today this partnership continues as Hilpert and the Blaufield Music bosses combine once again to deliver a new version of their latest studio album, Dear Future Self’.

Gatefold double LP pressed on blue marbled and transparent splatter vinyl. Beggars Arkive reissue the classic Freeez debut album ‘Southern Freeez’. Accompanied by a second LP containing seven brand new tracks from the band’s leader John Rocca. Freeez were a legendary group from London, known as one of the UK’s main jazz-funk bands of the early 1980s. Led by John Rocca, Freeez consisted of various musicians, originally with Rocca and others including Andy Stennet (keyboards), Peter Maas (bass guitar) and Paul Morgan. Their debut album ‘Southern Freeez’ was released in 1981 and contains the hit song ‘Southern Freeez’, which included guest vocals by Ingrid Mansfield Allman. John Rocca initially released the album it on his own Pink Rythm label before being signed to Beggars Banquet. A few years later, they had even more hits. Their biggest, ‘IOU’, was a #1 club single and was written and produced by renowned producer Arthur Baker with lyric contributions and lead vocals by John Rocca and remixed by Jellybean Benitez and Baker. It was a hit in the US in addition to the UK and was used in the legendary breakdancing movie Beat Street. ‘Pop Goes My Love’ was another hit. Rocca also had a hit as a solo artist in 1984 with ‘I Want It To Be Real’. While they may not be a household name, if you know, you know. They have been sampled many times, by artists including Jamie xx, Coolio, Brandy, Madlib and more. Nearly 40 years after the original release of ‘Southern Freeez’, after being contacted by Beggars Arkive about a reissue, John was inspired to go back to his roots. He pulled together some of the work that he had been experimenting with over the years and enlisted some musicians (including his nephews) to play on the tracks, saying that doing so “was a nice reflection of the past meeting the present.” “The melancholic suburban soul of ‘Southern Freeez’ never gets tired for me... an album that has remained at the top of my Brit Funk pile!” - Gilles Peterson

Following on from the success of the pair’s first single ‘Fix It All (feat. London Elektricity)’, sit back and get ready to embark on the lyrical journey of a lifetime. Getting straight to work, ‘Back & Forth’ sees the flows of DRS & Dynamite effortlessly bounce off each other over a relentless S.P.Y instrumental.
