Since it's inception in 2013, 22a has continued to showcase emerging, underground UK talent. Having initially focused their output around a core group of south London producers - such as Mo Kolours, Al Dobson Jr and founder Tenderlonious - the label has now reached beyond the Channel for its latest release. Following hot on the heels of Tenderlonious's 'On Flute' mini album, 22a introduces us to a new extended family member, Neue Grafik. Located in Paris, Neue Grafik represents a generation of artists at the forefront of electronic music. Routing his influences in a heavy 70s feel, his latest EP 'Soul Conspiracy' invites the listener to explore a fusion of live and programmed electronic music. Grafik makes good use of live instrumentation on this EP, featuring plenty of Fender Rhodes and lead synth, as well as a sprinkling of live drums and a strong guest vocal from the soulful likes of Wayne Snow. Tunes like ‘Modern Man’ and ‘Thanos Interlude’ adopt an inspired broken beat approach, reminiscent of early Bugz productions, whilst the title track ‘Soul Conspiracy’ has a distinct 22a quality, fusing classic house beats with a lo-fi boogie feel. The EP is a statement to 22a’s continued effort to re-define musical boundaries and will be a fine addition to an ever growing catalogue of great music!

Brian Eno saw him playing one night in Washington Square Park and invited him to record an album for his seminal Ambient series (Ambient 3: Day Of Radiance, released in 1980). Laraaji went on to release a prolific series of albums for a wide variety of labels, many of which he recorded himself at home and sold as cassettes during his street performances.

"The Best Post-Rock Album Of All Time" - Fact Mag // "Their influence is pervasive" - The Quietus // "Mysterious, haunting, and breathtakingly visionary" - Allmusic // Bark Psychosis were one of the most innovative bands of their time and as legend has it, saw the first use of the term 'Post-rock' by music critic Simon Reynolds. Following several singles and EPs, the avant-garde soundscapes built around drones and samples of 21-minute stand-out track 'Scum' arrived just two years before their seminal debut 'Hex' (1994). Their sound was born out of their improvisations at makeshift studio within St John's Church in Stratford. Taking a year to complete 'Hex' left the band on the brink of collapse and by the time of its release they had dissolved. Breaking down their songs and rebuilding them in the studio brought distinguishing ambient soundscapes and an atmospheric experimental sound. Last year Fact Magazine deservedly gave the album further recognition with it claiming top spot in their '30 Best Post-Rock Albums Of All Time'. Newly remastered in 2017 from the original analogue tapes at Metropolis Studios by Graham Sutton and Stuart Hawkes, and reissued officially for the first time.

Re-issue! With Caravan Palace, the next big hype from France is announcing, because Caravan Palace are for swing what Gotan Project is for the Tango. At the Womex World Music Fair in 2007 they sparked a lot of enthusiasm with their mixture of traditional Manouche jazz, swing and electro. On over 40 international festival appearances, the band received overwhelming reviews last year. With their debut album, they rushed to 15th place in the album charts in France.
