Schlachthofbronx is back with new music! The DJ and production duo from Munich/Germany will release the Haul & Pull Up EP 1 in October, including four tracks full of bass-heavy excursions into different types of club music. Music that sounds like Grime, Dancehall, Dub, Techno and the yet unnamed territory in between - their natural habitat. Lead single and first track of the EP is Copper And Lead, which features "London city warlord" Riko Dan of Roll Deep fame, spitting deadly lyrics on a Dubstep/Grime-riddim. Following this is Blurred Vision, a low end monster named after their gigantic soundsystem event series, exploring the middle ground between Dub and the techno-leaning 4x4 universe. Up next is Killer, a song with Warrior Queen from Jamaica, who prepares for a Dancehall dub war on a 808-heavy beat. Topping the EP off is Siren Riddim, an instrumental uptempo bomb for the apocalypse club gang and all the gunfinger crew. The release will be available digitally and on a limited edition 12" vinyl (full colour cover + banderole) via Rave And Romance Records/Disko B/Indigo. It’s the first EP in a series of three, leading up to an Haul & Pull Up album in early 2017. With this, Schlachthofbronx will follow up their three previous original albums (2009s Schlachthofbronx, 2012s Dirty Dancing and 2014s Rave And Romance), completed by EPs for Labels like Mixpak, Monkeytown, Mad Decent, Disko B and Man Recordings as well as production work for artists like M.I.A., Snoop Dogg, Major Lazer or Bonde Do Role. Downloadcode. REPRESS OF 2007 LUAKA BOP CLASSIC ALBUM Moreno, Kassin and Domenico were childhood friends from school. They formed a band and made three albums, each one under a different one's name. Their records are different and very influential in Brazil. Morneo is the son of legendary Brazilian musician Caetano Veloso. You can hear him at age 8 on the first Luaka Bop release ( Beleza Tropical') singing the words Ilê Ayê' on Caetano's song of the same name. Moreno's record is to some extent the most conventional of the three, even though Domenico, the drummer, plays drums on a sampler and cymbal sounds using sand paper. The next release, Domenico's, had the greatest success in the indie world, while Kassin's album is the most produced (which makes sense as he has become one of the most successful producers in Brazil). Immersion's new album of seductive instrumentals takes in a range of moods and energies. The duo of Malka Spigel of Minimal Compact and Colin Newman of Wire, Immersion is a true collaboration, with no delineation between who plays what. Through the nineties Immersion released three acclaimed albums of expansive instrumental electronica. Now 17 years later they are back. Though their sound is unmistakable, clearly the duo have evolved. The pulsing and sliding analogue synths are still present but the most noticeable differences are the introduction of guitars into the mix and an increased sense of urgency to the compositions. This means it cannot be classified as ambient music. Although it does have its contemplative moments - such as the gently unfolding Slow Light - the majority of the album is powered by a strong sense of motion. Nanocluster is a tense, insistent composition. Like the score to some futuristic spy film, it demonstrates their skill at creating sound worlds alive with detail. The urgent forward propulsion of Organic Cities weaves in shades of prime era Tangerine Dream. The fact the album has been largely constructed using analogue instrumentation rather than digital definitely gives it a warmth and depth which sets it apart. Since the latest album release almost five years ago, the band have been touring around the world and battling a lawsuit against the state at the same time – a somewhat Kafka-esque experience that ended up with two trials and a verdict proving the band innocent almost two years later. Immanu El re-grouped in a cellar of an old regiment building, started to write new music and got Swedish Grammy nominated producer Johan Eckeborn (Jonathan Johansson – Lebensraum) on board to work with the band. When spring arrived, the boys booked a studio at the top of a hill near Florence in Tuscany, Italy, and spent two weeks recording what now has become the band’s fourth album; Hibernation. Putting more time and focus into the production than ever before, Immanu El and Johan Eckeborn have managed to create something unique, developing the sound of the band and making the songs more compelling and exciting than ever. Introducing synthesizers and a rhythmic drive to melodies, this album has brought a new level of grandeur and simplicity to the music. The album’s lead track features a video by Emmy nominated American filmmaker Jeff Penilla. Taken from the short film The Earth The Way I Left It, Immanu El's first official video clip follows the story of a child, using her imagination to cope with a tragedy in the family. A tale of youth, innocence and imagination, Jeff gives his perspective on the video - "I'm a believer that the sounds and textures that are expressed in Voices match very well with the expressive visuals we incorporated into our short film so when I heard the song for the first time, it made sense that the two should compliment one another”. 'Voices' somehow bridges the gap between 'Hibernation''s predecessor In Passage with its post-rock rhythmical fundament, but then opens up wide into its gorgeous chorus. "When writing the song Voices I recalled a story a good friend of mine told me once" says the band’s founder and creative driving force Claes Straengberg, "he had this dream every night, over and over again where angels came to him and sang for him all night long. He was so puzzled because of that dream that he couldn't concentrate anymore on his studies during daytime, and so he had no other choice than to tell the angels one night that they should leave him alone. He never had that dream again. Not sure if he was just inventing this story, but it somehow impressed me”. Immanu El started as a musical experiment in Jönköping, Sweden 2004 by then 16-year-old Claes Strängberg, soon joined by his twin brother Per and friends David Lillberg and Jonatan Josefsson. The band has gained a reputation as one of the most promising bands from Scandinavia and have performed over 300 shows in 30 countries since the debut album was released 2008. During the last years of touring Immanu El performed at festivals such as SXSW in Austin, Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, Filter's Culture Collide Festival in Los Angeles, CMJ Music Marathon in New York, Canadian Music Week in Toronto and Strawberry Festival in Beijing and Shanghai. This full length album for Headz from Jungle Drum & Bass alumni Dom & Roland comes at a perfect time for the artist and the label, it follows his massive ‘Outta Endz / Unofficial Jah remix’ release and comes at a time where the label has been at its most fertile in recent memory. The album harks back to pioneering 90s aesthetic of the music but it doesn’t feel retrospective, in fact it feels futuristic- a thread that Dom has made sure ties all his work together. The reference points for the album stretch far and wide, from the inspiring and equally green eyed Sunday Sessions at Blue Note to RZA’s approach to sampling. Dom’s own words on the album perhaps shed the most light: “The album is inspired and processed via a collection of moments I had through growing up, the things i was into, memories of good and bad times i'd had and the music i was listening to at the time” Collaborations are kept sparse and potent, US legend Hive turns in a very rare appearance on D.M.T and vocal features come from Robert Manos and Natalie Duncan. The album is Dom & Roland exorcising his artistic demons and we’re proud to be releasing the project on Metalheadz.
