This album is the second in Chapman's series of his more improvised musical releases. The first ,"The Resurrection and Revenge of The Clayton Peacock", released in 2011 was Wire magazine's No. 5 Album of The Year, was widely received favourably by press and fans alike as another highpoint in Chapman's late blooming career which has been boosted by the public recognition of his talents by the likes of Thurston Moore, Jack Rose & Will Oldham. "Pachyderm' is an LP length minimalist masterpiece, a single chord ambient work quite unlike anything Chapman has done before and equally as surprising and different as Peacock managed to be. The second track is remix of the first side by one Rob Antony, a young Cumbrian neighbour of Michael's. Together they form a mellow and gentling shifting work that easily beckons auto repeated plays. Chapman is now 71 years old, and playing better than ever, he started out on EMI's legendary 60's Harvest record label, turned down playing in both Elton John then David Bowie's "Spiders" band, he only goes to show as per the recent rediscovery of the talents of his other contemporaries Roy Harper or John Martyn eventually your time will come.

Presenting a new collaboration featuring Oren Ambarchi on guitar, the electronics of Robin Fox, and both performing on various other instruments. The music on this album came about as the result of the two being asked to co-compose the soundtrack for a new production by renowned Australian contemporary dance company Chunky Move for their Connected production. Chunky Move's artistic director Gideon Obarzanek was drawn to the organic and deeply musical qualities of Ambarchi's work and the digital, almost scienti?c quality of Fox's sound. Over a process of many weeks these two aesthetics were merged. Working both in the Chunky Move studio and Head-gap studio in Melbourne, new works were forged from both digital and analog sources. This release brings together two of the most extraordinary artist/musicians working in Australia today. Both are renowned internationally for their individual practices, and here they join forces to produce powerful music that fuses Ambarchi's legendary guitar sound with Fox's mathematically rigorous tones and textures. This fusion results in sound works that stretch in scope from the sublime and spacious to the intensely dense and foreboding. Treading a precarious line between music and abstract sound, between organic and inorganic tones, this collaboration is a must listen for anyone interested in contemporary soundworks.

About Thomas Köner: Thomas Köner (b. 1965) is a pioneering multimedia artist whose main interest lies in combining visual and auditory experiences. Over his long, much celebrated career, he has worked between installation works, sound art, minimal soundscapes, and as one half of Porter Ricks. He attended music college in Dortmund and studied electronic music at the CEM-Studio in Arnhem. Until 1994 he worked in the film industry as editor and sound engineer. Thomas has extended his concept of time and sound colour to images, resulting in video installations, photography and net art. His point of departure was composition of sound in which aspects of a performance and visual language were gradually integrated. At first in the collaboration with film artist Jürgen Reble and the live performance Alchemie (1992). Following this, he started to compose film soundtracks and music to accompany historic silent films for the Louvre Museum and the Musée d'Orsay, Paris, who called him a major innovator in the contemporary music scene, as well as noted his collaborative practice which has led to his working with musicians, filmmakers and visual artists on installations and sound performances, and to his creation of six video works produced in two cycles, starting in 2003. In the fall of 2010, the New Harbours Music Series collective has invited Eric Quach to perform at the Christ's Church Cathedral, a 19th century historical building of architectural beauty in the center of the city of Hamilton, Canada. Without any preparation, he took the opportunity to record an improvised live set in front of an audience. Less than a year later, he returned for a second performance to complement his inceptive works. Mixed & edited as proper tracks during the winter & summer of 2012, both unique performances are respectfully presented on side A & B of a 12" vinyl. Armed with his electric axe through a lethal arsenal of effect pedals & amplifiers, Quach brings out the demons by launching an ascent of drones into the throne. Once the uprise hits the cathedral walls, the propagating discord takes a life of their own and multiplies like evil spirits. As the struggle to tame and control them only make them grow louder and more powerful, the dark overwhelming waves of vibrations fill up the atmosphere like demonic clouds and come crashing down with an infernal intensity. From Scott Morgan: "This album gets its name from an odd little ocean side park that borders industry and the Vancouver port authority and lays claim to being the birthplace of the city. In a way, Sketches from New Brighton it is a continuation of a dialogue with my environment that started with First Narrows (kranky 2004) and continued with the Strathcona Variations EP (Ghostly International 2009). It is not a rigorous "study" per se, but more a series of sketches, loose interpretations of the spaces I inhabit as well as an acknowledgement of their influence on my practice. These are my impressions, a kind of sketch of New Brighton and the surrounding area in an abstract form." This sixth full length album from kranky mainstay Scott Morgan sees his pulsing compositions gently unfolding in the understated fashion that has become his trademark. He designs a sonic architecture, slowly constructing, making subtle additions and subtractions, until an almost tactile virtual space is formed. Inside these spaces an aural feng shui is achieved, where less is more, where every element is in its place, and where maximum harmony is attained through the masterly placement of sound.

"Hypnotic walls of shimmering sound" perhaps describe his aesthetic most broadly, whether his medium is electric guitar, electronics, or acoustic instruments. His influences include modern composition, underground metal, and noise electronics. Further down the apocalyptic tunnel initiated on the LP "Hypnos", these 3 tracks of dark illumination from Oneirogen (aka Mario Diaz de Leon) were composed as a counterpart to the full length. We find again his characteristic synth and noise used to harrowing effect, full of dramatic textural shifts, while bringing the metallic guitar and voice more to the forefront. His influences include modern composition, underground metal, and noise electronics. "Hypnos" finds Diaz de Leon focused on his style of hallucinatory music. Far from being a follow up to 2009's "Enter Houses Of" (a genre defying album of new classical works), "Hypnos" is a new direction, merging ethereal synths, brutal distortion, noise, and dark ambient. The album takes its title from the Greek god of sleep (also closely associated with night, death, and dreams), and the music itself is an eerie descent into the otherwordly, recasting familiar elements in a revelatory new light. On the opening and closing tracks, hyper fast synth tones create a rushing, cathedral -like atmosphere. Tracks such as "Consumed", "Hypnocaust", and "Kukulkan" feature psychedelic, crushing distortion as their primary focus, taking influence from doom metal, black metal, power electronics, new age, and horror soundtracks. "Cinerum" and "Faithless" are highly structured takes on dark ambient, bringing the listener into haunting, strikingly beautiful realms of isolation, bleakness, and saturated noise textures. Talvihorros is Ben Chatwin, an experimental composer from London exploring the possibilities of the guitar. Music in Four Movements is his second full-length album. Here's what Ben had to say about the record: With 'Music in Four Movements' I set out to compose four long pieces of music that would act as suites rather than shorter melodic songs as I had done on my previous record 'Some Ambulance'. Using longer time frames afforded the sounds time and space with which to evolve and move. This has led to what could be labelled as my most ambient work i have released but I think also the most intense. Throughout the recording process I became interested in the fundamental ideas of life and death and why people would choose to take their own lives, (reading 'The Road' on a day long train back to London from Scotland, hungover after New Year certainly contributed to this). Slowly a narrative presented itself and the 4 tracks started to represent a journey of the final days of someone who has chosen to end everything. I became particularly interested in reading stories about people who drowned themselves in rivers or the sea - a bleak yet strangely beautiful image of someone walking their final walk into the sea became a strong visual influence for the record. Ryuichi Sakamoto and Christopher Willits are ready to release a new collaborative album called Ancient Future. Each of the artists involved comes from a different generation of electronic music. Willits is a San Francisco-based artist who's been putting out indie-tinted glitch records since 2002. Sakamoto, on the other hand, is a founding member of pioneering Japanese group Yellow Magic Orchestra, and has had a prolific a solo career is a pianist and avant-garde artist that stretches back to the late '70s. Ancient Future is their second album together, after 2008's Ocean Fire. It shows the duo crafting somber ambient pieces, occasionally complemented by Sakamoto's piano or Willits' guitar. It's due out in August on Ann Arbor's Ghostly International.

The Floating World is the solo project of Amanda Votta. Begun in 2005, three albums have been released so far;
