AC4, the Swedish hardcore punk band fronted by Dennis Lyxzén, best known as the singer of REFUSED and THE (INTERNATIONAL) NOISE CONSPIRACY, will release its second album, "Burn The World. Lyxzén is backed in the group by guitarist Karl Backman, bassist Christoffer Röstlund Jonsson and drummer Jens Nordén, all Umeå hardcore mainstays from bands like STEP FORWARD, D.S.-13, REGULATIONS and THE VECTORS. According to a press release, "Burn The World" features 16 songs that can be described as "classic early '80s hardcore punk like DEAD KENNEDYS, BAD BRAINS and G.B.H. mixed with a bit of MOTÖRHEAD. In other words: the music the band members grew up with." AC4 originally started in 2008, released its debut album, "AC4", in 2009 and toured all over Europe and Australia the following years. During REFUSED's reunion tour of 2012, AC4 took a break from live gigs and focused on the recording of "Burn The World".

Revenge is a band based in Malmö, the dirty south capital of Sweden. The band delivers raw, tight, classic hardcore with a razor-sharp precision. There is a clear, common thread running through the whole album, but despite this, the songs appear very varied. The vocals has an important role in the music, and the album is full of catchy melodies that create dynamics and contrasts. The result is like a fierce punch in the face that feels throughout your head, and that to say in a positive way. Revenge does not consists of any newcomers. The bands line up consists of people from hard working, touring bands such as Satanic Surfers, Venerea, Intensity, Skit Kids, Sista Sekunden and Enemy Alliance. In December 2011, the band went into Discrete Motions Studios in Malmö and recorded 16 songs during 3 days. Engineer and co-producer was Mattias Persson (Ursut, Kontrovers) who previously has recorded Venerea and Enemy Alliance among others. 11 of the songs are now being released as a debut album by record label Gaphals. The album is part of the Gaphals series of 45 rpm hardcore-12-inches, which contain previous releases by Pusrad, Damage, Red Doves and Din Skevf. It will be released on vinyl / CD and digital. The cover art of the album has been painted by Charlie Nilsson, an award-winning tattoo artist and painter in Malmö. Revenge have in 2012 made a handful of gigs in their hometown of Malmö, including Malmö Hardcore Festival. There are vocal harmonies and rocking riffs in abundance here to gnaw into and as the album progresses through Mary Rosed and Baby, I Don’t Want to Know, the Sussex based outfit waste no time in showing what they have to offer. Eager Teeth display a great array of styles throughout the self-titled release, from the alt rock grooves in Constant Entertainment, to the hard rock rhythms in Lights Out and the post-hardcore onslaught in double-header I Decided Long Ago/Exorcise Bike. As we steam through the back end of the tracks, penultimate number La Fin Absolue provides a rousing energy which can only be admired. The self-titled record is full of more than listenable tracks and an effort the Brighton lads should definitely be proud of. On the back of a recent successful tour with Hacktivist and Neck Deep, expect Eager Teeth to be on more and more peoples’ lips as the year goes by.

In the first years since their beginning in 2001, DOMINIC have mainly focused on concerts and live shows and have toured Europe a lot especially after 2003. Many DOMINIC releases have seen the light of the day during these years, including two full length albums. Most of these recordings had been done live and as quickly as possible. The band has had its focus on catching the nerve and roughness the live format adds, without spending too much time on post production. With the new album DOMINIC took a different approach and thus Persona marks a new step in their history as a band. DOMINIC started working on the songs for the album shortly after their previous album "Nord" was released in 2009. Since 2010 there have been fewer live shows, but a steady and continuous work on the material for Persona. Finally DOMINIC have been in and out of the recording studio in the Summer and Fall of 2012 to finish the record. The result is Persona, a manifestation of a band that has toured and played together for more than 10 years. DOMINIC have always been hard to label, but attemps to characterise them have used terms such as punk, hardcore, post-hardcore, screamo and post-rock. These are all genres the band is well known with, and musically DOMINIC is probably somewhere within. Yet, these terms could never suffice to describe Persona entirely, the only thing that's for certain is the fact that DOMINIC are DOMINIC, and Persona is Persona. The album name "Persona" is borrowed from the psychiatrist Carl Jung, who defined "the persona" as a mask, the facade we try to maintain in social settings. The persona-mask occurs between the individual and the society around, and is not more real than the characters played in a fictional play. Both in fiction and in real life, the mask has two functions;
to make a certain impression on others, and to hide the true nature of the individual.

Indeed, it was only a year later, when Revelation Records released the band's self-titled EP - their name derived from a lyric in the MISFITS song "Bullet" - that TEXAS IS THE REASON were already headlining their own tours in America and well on their way to defining a new moment in post-punk. In April of 1996, the band reinforced that initial success with their first and only album, produced by JAWBOX's J. Robbins and named after the last words that John Lennon was alleged to have heard: Do You Know Who You Are? In the years since, Spin, Alternative Press, and Paste would all go on to call Do You Know Who You Are? an essential 90s album. Unfortunately, after a year of heavy promotion and touring for the record, inner-band tension came to a head, and TEXAS IS THE REASON officially split in 1997.
