The band was completely unaware that some of their old recordings leaked online early 2000s which later found its way to different metal forums and they got new fans around the globe which culminated in the release of the compilation "Land of Northern" back in 2018. After the release of the compilation album Land of Northern, the band decided to start write new material in the old school 80´s style and release a full-length album. But life wanted otherwise. Their long-time member and vocalist Ray Alex passed away early 2019 and the band retreated once again to make a decision on how to proceed. The band had a couple of gigs booked and chose to full fill them with Ray Alex brother Row Alex on vocal. This gave them new energy and they decided to take it to the next level and release what will be the band's first real full-length album - Northern Steel.

Veteran French metallers LOUDBLAST will release their new album, "Manifesto", in early November via Listenable Records. The disc was recorded at Vamacara Studio in France. It was produced by HK Krauss and band leader Stéphane Buriez. The cover art was created by Eliran Kantor. Buriez comments: "This album has a particular feel for me. The themes refer to the chaos of life as such, to the chaos of society, the darkness of man revealed through his everyday actions. In 'Manifesto', there's the unhealthy side of our previous album, 'Burial Ground', the atmospheres of 'Disincarnate', 'Sublime Dementia' and 'Cross The Threshold' — just a real LOUDBLAST album." LOUDBLAST's latest addition, bassist Frédéric Leclercq (KREATOR, ex-DRAGONFORCE), says: "While we kept certain elements of 'Burial Ground', especially in terms of darkness, there was also common goal to go back to the roots of LOUDBLAST. Stylistically, a balance between the brutality of 'Disincarnate' and the technicity and melodicity of 'Sublime Dementia'." Kantor said about the artwork: "Stéphane told me about the album title, and I came up with the idea for the cover late at night while I was trying to fall asleep. I pictured a book that instead of bringing enlightenment (usually portrayed by rays of light) is emanating shadows. A dark cast revealing the evil nature bubbling in black tar beneath those who read it."

Ferd means “journey”, “travel”, and “to explore”. The album's primary focus is to honour those who travelled the world, thus expanding knowledge and facilitating cultural exchange. This aspect is highlighted through working with music in a historical sense, as most of the travelers’ instruments were brought back from far away cultures – bringing with them musical inspiration as well. The inspiration is drawn from a wide range of sounds from all over the world, particularly from North Africa, America, and the East. The lead single "Østavind" is an old Norwegian term for the wind that blows from east, about which Kjell comments, "I use the word in the expanded sense, pointing at the fact that much of our culture (as many musical instruments) was brought back from the far east. It is a hymn to those who traveled there, but also to those who came here. There is endless evidence of how vital part this trade has played in Scandinavia's cultural development. To underline the cultural exchange, I have used only instruments based on accepted finds from around Scandinavia, some with its origin in the middle east. The rhythms and scales used in this composition are from both cultures." Ferd started out as a collection of pieces initially composed for short movies, documentaries and plays, performed on old Norse instruments. It soon evolved far beyond that. Reworked with the help of talented fellow Nordic musicians and brought together to give life to Ferd, the songs unveil a great journey with a common focus, while still telling each their own stories. Kjell invited visual artists to illustrate each song of the album, which you can find in the extensive booklet together with their corresponding stories.

The band had been discussing the idea to leave out keyboards in their songs for a while now and decided that this move gives them a sound that will make a difference in their approach. JADED HEART has always been a melodic band that writes songs with huge sing-along choruses – and this album offers many of those! For the first time in years, the entire band got together and wrote 2 songs as a complete unit in a rehearsal room in Cologne. Because the band lives in different countries this was not an easy task as you can imagine. The creative juices were flowing in full force and it took the band just 3 hours to write “Hero To Zero” and “Kill Your Masters”! The album cover however was not as easy to give birth to, but when Thomas Ewerhard presented the gladiator idea, everyone was on board right away. The impressive title song “Stand Your Ground” is about that very topic. Another first for JADED HEART was the involvement of an external lyricist. Johnny Lindberg was more than happy to be part of this album: “These songs inspired me. The high quality of the melodies and the rhythms alone on this album kind of provoked thoughts that sometimes sprung into words in me – and some lyrics ended up basically writing themselves. It’s been a great honor to have been given the task to write the lyrics for this hard-rocking, melodic metal album.”

HEXECUTOR are a band from France that really deserves the stamp "Thrash Metal", because that's exactly what "Poison, Lust And Damnation" is through and through. One uptempo number chases the next, and howling guitars screech with singer Jey Deflagratör so much that the screams on Agents Steels 'Agents Of Steel' seem almost deep. The record goes straight and energetic, but also has many playful moments and one or two nice acoustic breathers (like in the outro of 'Visitation Of A Lascivious Entity'). One could grumble that the wheel has not been reinvented here, or simply let fresh eighties thrash be served up and leave the rest to the avant-garde. 'Mandy Malon

In celebration of HELSOTT's 10th anniversary, M-Theory Audio is proud to reissue “Woven,” the debut full-length by America’s leading pagan metal band. The album – which features striking fantasy artwork by Felipe Machado Franco (Iced Earth, Blind Guardian) – has been newly remixed and remastered by J-F Dagenais (Kataklysm, Misery Index). The new reissue marks the album’s first-ever vinyl release, a limited-edition white wax pressing of 200 hand-numbered copies. The CD, meanwhile, includes the band’s 2012 debut EP “Folkvangr” – which has also been remixed and remastered by Dagenais – as bonus tracks. Since their formation, the California-based HELSOTT – whose name means “fatal illness” in Old Norse – has paid homage to pagan cultures and mythologies while keeping true to their American influences. The group's unique mix of folk metal, death metal, symphonic metal, thrash, classical and rock first caught the attention of audiences on a large scale during the 2013 Paganfest North American tour, where they played with Ensiferum, Tyr and Trollfest. That tour set the stage for the release of “Woven,” which was supported with tours alongside Arkona and Heidevolk. In the years since, HELSOTT has released an EP (2017’s “The Healer”) and a second full-length (2018’s “Slaves and Gods”) and toured extensively both domestically and internationally with artists including Korpiklaani, I Am Morbid, Necrophagia, Tengger Cavalry, Ashes of Ares, Felix Martin, Arkona, Skyforger and Finsterforst. In addition, the band has performed at major European concert events such as the Wacken Open Air and Cernunnos Pagan festivals. The group is currently working on a new album, which they hope to release in 2021.
