Stallion are a traditional heavy metal band from Germany. Äxl and Paul have been sharing a flat for the last six years. As they were not able to find suitable musicians for their project, the two decided to record their debut mini-album "Mounting The World" on their own accord. Paul was handling the vocals and Äxl played all the instruments on the six tracks. However, Stallion is not a mere studio project. The band is one of the hottest newcomers in German Metal at the moment. Stallion will present their new complete line-up this year when they are playing such prestigious festivals as “Keep It True”, “Metal Assault”, “Hell Over Hamburg” and “Hell's Pleasure” (to name just a few). The opener of "Mounting The World", “Canadian Steele”, is a nod to the New Wave Of Canadian Metal. Stallion are friends with current Canadian Metal bands such as Cauldron, Axxion, Skull Fist and Striker. This does not mean, however, that they're trying to copy their sound. Far from it. “We wanted to cover a wide spectrum of different metal styles,” explains Paul. “And I do think that we have achieved just that,” he continues. “We're just playing the stuff we'd like to listen to anyway. Lyrically, I'm writing about what happens to me in everyday life. That's the inspiration for me”. A superb cover version of Rock Goddess' “Heavy Metal Rock 'n' Roll” rounds off this fantastic mini-album. Stallion already have a solid local fan base here in Germany and with the first mini-album, there's surely no stopping them

The future looks bright for Stallion. They are one of the most promising up and coming traditional heavy metal bands from Germany. The first pressing of the re-issue of their 2014 debut mini-album »Mounting The World« via High Roller Records sold out in no time. No wonder that they took the prestigious Keep It True festival by storm. With 2016’s »Rise And Ride« longplayer Stallion carried on where they have left off with »Mounting The World«. With their second album »From The Dead« it’s now time to show their fans that Stallion are willing to progress without leaving the path of traditional heavy metal... And songs such as “Waiting For A Sign”, “Awaken The Night” and “Underground Society” show exactly that. Vocalist Paul, coming across on »From The Dead« as a cross between Cirith Ungol’s Tim Baker and Klaus Thiel of Germany’s Bullet, explains: “We took our time to work on the songs for the new album. We did not rush things for »From The Dead«. That’s maybe the biggest difference between our first and our second album. The songs evolved over time, and they changed as well. Some quite dramatically so. In addition to that it was more of a group effort this time around. Everybody in the band was involved a lot more in the actual songwriting process.” So it is quite safe to say that overall »From The Dead« is a more mature album in comparison to »Rise And Ride«. There is no reason for Paul to disagree: “That’ for sure, yes. You could say that. With the mini-album, and »Rise And Ride« as well, we had nothing to lose. It was our aim to have a vinyl out and we did not care at all what the scene was thinking about it. I have to stress that this has not really changed with the new album. We still make the music we like. But of course our own quality control has become a lot stricter. So all in all, »From The Dead« might as well be considered a more ‘grown up’ album at the end of the day.” As mentioned earlier, Paul’s charismatic vocals are one of the factors making Stallion sound pretty unique. For him this all comes very natural: “I don’t really reflect about how I am singing. This is my style. A style I have developed over the years, even in bands before Stallion. I do think that my style of singing fits quite well with the music Stallion is playing. I never copied singers of other bands, it just feels natural to me. And this is probably how it will stay, I can’t see myself changing my style of singing anytime soon.” The most accessible number on »From The Dead« is probably the album closer “Awaken The Night”: Melodic metal at its very best! Paul explains: “From day one our style was very varied, ranging from speed metal, thrash metal and heavy metal to melodic hard rock. This is why we wanted to have a straight number on the new record as well. At the end of the song, there is some punky speed metal shredding going on, so this makes it a typical Stallion number after all.” With songs such as “Underground Society” (and “Kill Fascists”) the lyrics of »From The Dead« are reflecting on how Stallion view what’s going on in the current metal scene. And it’s fair to say that there are some aspects they do not like at all: “»From The Dead« relates to tendencies within the metal scene to associate with extreme right-wing ideas and to toy with fascist symbols and iconography. Just for the sake of being extremely ‘evil’ and ‘true’, whatever that may mean. There is really no justification for following fascist ideologies. That’s a no no. And it doesn’t help proclaiming doing that purely for the sake of provocation. That doesn’t help at all. We also have a critical view regarding global politics right now. It may seem highly unlikely that people like Erdogan or Trump will ever listen to a Stallion album, I give you that, but maybe we can make metalheads think about what those politicians are doing to us. We probably won’t change the world. But at least we had our say

Since they first started, Sorcerer have been labeled “epic doom” – a tag that fits but does not define them, and this has never been more evident than on their third full-length, Lamenting of The Innocent. On this record, the Swedish quintet return with a revamped lineup that includes longstanding guitarists Kristian Niemann and Peter Hallgren plus vocalist Anders Engberg, joined by bassist Justin Biggs and former drummer Richard Evensand – both of whom bring something new and fresh to Sorcerer. This time around, the band let their influences shine through, breaking up the epic doom with flavors of prog, post-metal, classic heavy metal and hard rock. The track “Deliverance” also features a guest appearance: Johan Langquist of Candlemass and renowned Swedish cellist Svante Henryson. Sorcerer comments: “They truly brought another dimension to that song and now it’s impossible to imagine it without their contributions, which is the way it should be when you bring guests in to perform; they are there to provide something you couldn’t do on your own.” Producing the album themselves, the band are self-confessed hardcore perfectionists who will accept nothing but the absolute best in every aspect of the recording process. The only collaborators involved in the making of Lamenting of The Innocent were Ronnie Björnström, who both mixed and mastered the album, and Conny Welén who contributed to the songwriting.

On their seventh full-length "Black House", Secrets of the Moon offer us a re-invented version of their pristinely sinister rock music. Reunited with founding member Lars Plegge (Daevas), the Germans further explore the path taken on critically acclaimed predecessor "Sun" (ranked by opinion-forming German magazine Rock Hard among the key albums of the new millennium), serving nothing and no one, only their songs. While the material on "Sun" seemed like relentless, emotional outbreaks exploring new worlds, "Black House" bursts with self-confidence and gets closer to the point with well-composed, catchy tunes of subtle movement, blackened grace and furious elegance. The result is a unique blend of styles one fails to pay full justice to with tags such as "goth rock" and "post punk" or references to Alice In Chains, Tiamat's "Wildhoney"-era and Fields Of The Nephilim. The material was recorded in guitarist, engineer and producer Michael Zech's (Ar) own The Church of Sound studio over the course of almost one year. "While working on it, the studio turned more and more into the Black House," says the band, hinting at the intensity of the recordings. "We became obsessed, we became the house." During that time, the quartet welcomed guests as Jarboe as well as members from Empyrium, (Dolch), The Ruins Of Beverast, Dark Fortress and Enemy Of The Sun, who contributed to the individual vibes of all songs. "Black House" is embedded into a strong and extensive visual concept, comprising both a sophisticated artwork (best displayed in the artbook edition) and video clips of each album track. The visuals pivot on nine artefacts - abstract references to the lyrics and the general feelings of the songs - which serve as a golden thread spun throughout and create a visceral world around, respectively within the Black House. Filmed, directed and designed by infamous French artists Metastazis (Led Zeppelin, Morbid Angel, Ulver) and Dehn Sora (Deathspell Omega, Amen Ra, Blut Aus Nord) within several months of constant work, "Black House" is a highly ambitious, compelling artistic synthesis. "Everybody is welcome in the Black House, but the house rules apply," singer and guitarist Phil Jonas (sG) concludes. "Bring rubber boots; it's below sea-level, sometimes it gets wet inside …"

Splatter Vinyl. With last year's triple album opus "Triangle", Switzerland's SCHAMMASCH gained wide international acclaim and defiantly raised the bar within the extreme metal scene. Doubtlessly one of the most daring, interesting and multidimensional bands of today's black metal oeuvre, their constant striving for artistic freedom makes them an important part of the genre's future, never bound by rules or limits.? This summer SCHAMMASCH will extend their body of work by adding a new branch - the first in a line of shorter releases outside of the traditional "album-cycle" entitled "The Maldoror Chants", entirely based on "Les Chants de Maldoror"; one of 19th century's darkest and most fascinating literary works which should later become part of the foundation of the surrealist movement. Having been an important lyrical influence for SCHAMMASCH since their second album "Contradiction", they have now decided to give this inspiration the space it deserves and, on the other hand, to give themselves the artistic space it would require. REISSUE - SPLATTER VINYL SCHAMMASCH met in Basel in 2009. From the very beginning, the band never gave a thought to which genre they would fit into, but rather considered their current creative work to be more far-reaching and, first and foremost, more artistically significant than narrow genre boundaries. Moreover, the band's roots can be seen in future-oriented Black Metal, to which the band adds a razor-sharp mixture of dark atmospheric doom and hermetic mysticism. After a year of carefully honing their work, SCHAMMASCH released their debut album "Sic Lvceat Lvx" on a Swiss Black Metal underground label and presented their live shows alongside international extreme metal acts like JEX THOTH, TEMPLE OF BAAL, VORKREIST, EVOKEN and FORGOTTEN TOMB. Their ambitious debut collected much praise from many corners of the extreme metal music world. Legacy magazine in Germany wrote at the time " With a work of art like this, there is only one recommendation: Go and buy it, because you won't regret it.14/15" As the first Swiss band to be signed to Prosthetic, SCHAMMASCH now release their second work "Contradiction" as a double album. The album was recorded and produced by none other than V. Santura (ex-CELTIC FROST and TRIPKYTON guitarist). An extensive, epic work over 85 minutes long, with majestic artwork by the artist Valnoir of the Metastazis Studio in Paris. "Contradiction" is a truly impressive work of great importance, both for extreme music in 2014 and for the rich heritage of forward-looking Swiss metal in general.
