180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE VINYL - INSERT Pride was the second studio album by the American/Danish hard rock band White Lion, released in 1987. The album featured the two Top 10 hits "Wait" and "When the Children Cry". Its first single "Wait" did not make waves until MTV began airing the music video seven months after its release, pushing the single to #8 on the Billboard Hot 100. More than a year after the album's release, the second single "Tell Me" also featuring a music video hit #58. Pride's third single, a gentle acoustic ballad titled "When The Children Cry" made it all the way to #3, marking Pride one of just 20 Hard Rock albums to ever have multiple top 10 hits. Consequently, the album peaked at #11 on the album charts. Pride would remain on the top 200 Billboard album charts for a full year, selling two million copies in the US alone, which awarded the album a Platinum status. The Pride tour started in July 1987 as White Lion opened for Ace Frehley's 80's band Frehley's Comet. The next year and a half was filled with constant touring, opening for such bands as Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne and KISS. White Lion also landed the opening slot for AC/DC on their Blow Up Your Video American tour. They'd end the tour opening for Stryper in the summer of 1988. URIAH HEEP's newest live album! In January 2011, URIAH HEEP entered the studio to record "Into The Wild" and the band once again returned to the road for a worldwide tour. The group played in front of nearly 150,000 people in 58 different countries. On March 4, 2014, URIAH HEEP played in front of its "home" audience in London and performed an amazing show which was recorded in HD for a release in double CD/DVD and, for the first time, on Blu-ray. "Recording a live DVD in London at Koko's was just fantastic. Our fans travelled from all over the world to be there, and be part of this magic night," says guitarist Mick Box. "This added so much to the atmosphere, and thankfully it was captured on camera. We debuted two songs from our new CD, 'Outsider', that night, and the reaction was just incredible, proving that we have the best fans in the world." Originally founded by vocalist David Byron and guitarist Mick Box, URIAH HEEP has been through an incredible number of permutations, with Box always at the helm. Longstanding keyboard player Phil Lanzon and vocalist Bernie Shaw were recruited nearly thirty years ago in 1986. Drummer Russell Gilbrook who has now been with the band seven years, has recorded studio albums "Wake The Sleeper", "Into The Wild" and "Outsider". Nearly two years in the making, Burweed’s debut album HIDE presents the most interesting new act to follow in the Finnish metal scene. After receiving praise for two EP-length releases, the process of making the first Burweed full-length did not turn out to be as easy. Writing the album was a long and difficult task. Confidence in the material and the band were completely buried at the end of the recording sessions. The album was finished in early 2014, however, it laid untouched for over six months. The distance gained during this period showed the album in a new light. The difficulties faced, the frustration, and the dedication to the album are heard in an uncompromising, passionate, and an overwhelmingly cathartic whole. “Hide” had risen from the ashes. Burweed was formed in 2009 in the midst of a creative outburst. The trio found their own voice on the praised “Eyes Down South EP” in 2012. What does Burweed sound like? Try combining the groove of Deftones with the gritty riffs of Mastodon and top the mix with some melodies size of a tidal wave. Burweed’s debut full-length HIDE comes out February 20th, 2014 on Inverse Records. Hide was recorded in 2013 at Korkeakoski Studios (Insomnium, Bob Malmström).
