The sixth album by the group originally founded by Stuart Carter and Richard Johnson of Splintered in 2000. Over the years, Theme have performed live sporadically, appearing at festivals and playing a couple of short tours in Europe, the last of which featured them in a full band collaborative mode also including Faust's Jean-herve Peron on bass and Zsolt Sores (Inconsolable Ghost) on viola and electronics. Sacral Blood Warning pays witness to Theme once more returning to the core duo in order to expand on the largely brutal and less compromising approach their work has been imbued with since the very beginning. Partly designed as a reflection on modern times and all the inherent confusion as unrest appears to reign heavier than ever in an almost illusory realm, the music that constitutes this album explores notions of a self without moorings violently torn in several directions. Whilst it might seem deliberately dystopian for the most part, the rich layers of often organic sound reveal a gamut of other delphic shades besides the confusion. There are moments when one can snatch another gulp of air before succumbing to the undertow itself initially inspired by all from sci-fi soundtracks to the confrontational assaults of Suicide and the ravaged voice of Robert Ashley.

SIX long years after the release of their, some might say classic sophomore album 'Deep Mountain', the worlds most reclusive sludge rockers Sloath return with their imaginatively titled third album 'lll'. "III" is conceived in a burst of activity around Christmas 2014. Geographical displacement and a slimming of the ranks necessitate an economy of style - a streamlining of the group's already minimalist approach. Grooves tauten as ballast turns to muscle. The new songs blow the roof off a packed gig in their former home town and the group scatter once more. They reconvene in the spring of 2015 to play the Raw Power festival in London, and triumph in spite of failing equipment. Shortly thereafter, the new suite is recorded with Tim Cedar (Part Chimp etc) at Dropout in Camberwell. Again the band disperse. The recordings mature in an old oak whisky barrel. It will be four years before the group can gain perspective on the scale of the "new" LP and complete the tortuous mixing process. "III" is finally handed in to Riot Season in the autumn of 2019. Sloath have existed since 2007. Their music is a synthesis of classic rock, minimalism and extreme volume. They have shared stages with Bardo Pond, Om and Hey Colossus. They currently reside in Kent, London, Berlin and Zaragoza. Their two previous LPs, "Sloath" (2010) and "Deep Mountain" (2014) were also released on Riot Season.

What is certain is that Tracy Bellaries and Matt Ridout had shared a flat for a while and were often speaking about forming a group to have an outlet for some music that Tracy had written, but above and beyond that initial idea the rest is slightly hazy, or perhaps murky is the better word. Also very much a fact rather than a fiction is that the name was cooked up at Supernormal Festival in 2016 when Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs bassist Johnny Hedley uttered the phrase 'Look at these guns, Mummise Guns' when everyone was hanging around a tree swing (this sounds like we're making it up now, but honest it happened, we think). Tracy and Matt immediately adopted it despite protestations that it was a completely daft thing to do. Thus, the band Mummise Guns was born.
