"I have seen the Ruins perform more times than any other band by far and I love them every time." Boston Groupie News // "I'm so happy to see the song "Forget About It" finally get out there for the whole world to enjoy. It only took 8 years!" Legendary Boston DJ Joanie Lindstrom, The Late Risers Club WMBR // Ever wonder what your local "bar band" would sound like if they acknowledged the likes of The Replacements and Ramones, just as much, if not more so than your typical beer-breath blues rock? Boston's long-running Classic Ruins just might be a relatively close answer to such a quandary. "Our style is what I guess you'd call garage rock, or something," says Frank Rowe, guitarist, songwriter, artist, father of two, and long-time frontman for Boston's Classic Ruins. Known for quick-paced, punchy songs packed with hooks, raunchy guitar work, deadpan vocals - and a sardonic, low-brow sense of humor - the Ruins were regulars on the Boston club circuit for several years before the release of their 1986 debut, 'Lassie Eats Chickens', and follow up 'Ruin's Cafe'. Today, the band returns from the junkyard and garage with their brand new release FORGET ABOUT IT. "The Classic Ruins have delivered their new Album right on schedule: They never fail to come up with a classic every three decades. If you've long worn out your copies of Lassie Eats Chickens and Ruins Cafe, the new stuff is finally here but even if you don't know or care about Boston rock history, you'll know a great tune when you hear one. And here you've got a handful of new tunes, all with mile-wide hooks and frontman Frank Rowe's sly wit, all ready to join "Geraldine" and "I Can't Spell Romance" on the list of greatest hits. Rounding out the EP are a few odds 'n sods from recent years, including their dryhumored Christmas song from a few years back. Plus a trio of surf-rockin' instrumentals that evince Rowe's and Carl Biancucci's unshakeable guitar/bass chemistry. And finally a manic 80-second cover of "Lights Out," a rockabilly gem written by Mac Rebennack before he was Dr. John. It's been a tough year for those of us who love our rock'n'roll, but if you expected the Classic Ruins to shut up or back down...Well, forget about it!" Brett Milano_
