Having received acclaim from the likes of Gorilla Vs. Bear, The Fader, and the NME for the song ,Doldrums", taken from their last demo cassette, Fear of Men return with the 7" ,Green Sea", which sees the band combine the warmth and intimacy of their first home recordings with a more ambitious and textured production to present a bold, distinct sound. Released on London"s Sexbeat (Fresh & Only"s, No Joy, Virals) on the 18th of June and limited to 300 copies (One White Vinyl), the single was recorded in a basement studio in Wandsworth in early 2012 and features a musical saw, backwards guitar solo and layers of backing vocals processed through a near dilapidated Echo Chamber. 'Green Sea' is backed by the breezy hook-laden 'Born'. Fear of Men was born when Jess (Vocals+ Guitar) had been writing and home recording ambient songs as soundtracks to short films when Daniel (Guitar) attended an exhibition of her work. The two began swapping mixtapes and started a project based on a shared love of melody and an eclectic mix of artists such as Eric's Trip, Grouper, Daniel Johnston, Pixies and The Chills. Joining Jess and Daniel in the group are Alex on bass and Mike on drums and saw. Fear of Men, a band from equal parts Brighton and London, have existed for a little over a year but have already played shows with the likes of The Antlers, Vivian Girls, Iceage and Best Coast
