The texts are often more phonetic arbitrariness than poetry. Es war Mord playing unpredictable bulky somber punk with many rhythm changes. The tonic keynote is almost always based on E minor, since it is the darkest and deepest chord you can play on a normally tuned guitar. Es war Mord finished a LP called "Unter Kannibalen", the original title "Erinnerungen des Agenten, der aus Notwehr mit den Kannibalen knutschte" was cut by the band because it was too long but although good. The artwork is the print of a woodcut with the title "Es lebe das 21. Jahrhundert " and is by Fritz Ebeling, a berlin artist and graduate student of Schmidt Rottluff, who died in 2011.
