Performed with the one-off ensemble the Music Society, Wahoo! from 1973 is a fiery, raw burst of fusion jazz played by a large group with incendiary energy, Koivistoinen's commanding saxophone controlling the chaos. The Svart edition is prepared in co-operation with Koivistoinen, and it presents new liner notes plus unseen photos. The original art is expanded to gatefold format.

Day is Over, an album often credited to Esko Linnavalli Quintet but without any mention of performing group on the cover, was born during a series of Finnish Jazz Music Workshop events, led by Heikki Sarmanto and Esko Linnavalli, out which the New Music Orchestra UMO was born. A UMO-anticipating 14-headed workshop band gathered to rehearse at the rock club Tavastia in 1974. Out of that group emerged a quintet, who took a trip to Stockholm to record Day Is Over. The album appeared on Scandia Records in 1975 and has since become one of the most valuable jazz rarities of the seventies in Finland. The Svart edition is the first time this remarkable album is available after its very brief original run.

Limited to 300 copies. Inspired by Weather Report, the profilic Finnish jazz master Seppo "Paroni" Paakkunainen formed Unisono in 1973. The lineup consisted of some of the most talented guys around: Paakkunainen on sax and flute, Reiska Laine on drums, Make Lievonen on bass, Hasse Walli on guitar and Olli Ahvenlahti on piano. After a successful tour of Poland, Finnlevy's new progressive rock imprint Hi-Hat offered a deal, which resulted in this self-titled album in 1975. At this point Walli and Lievonen had left the ranks, and Unisono decided to continue without guitar. Bass duties were handled by Pekka Pohjola, who had just called it a day in Wigwam. The album gained the group quite a bit of attention, but as Ahvenlahti and Paakkunainen soon left to study abroad, Unisono was abandoned and these 5 lengthy tracks remain their entire studio legacy. Today criminally underrated and forgotten album sounds as fresh as ever and remains an excellent piece of evidence of the quality of Finnish jazz in the 70s

This 1970 album was originally released by the same book publishing company, Otava, which was responsible for his earlier two albums as well. The Svart edition of this important piece of Koivistoinen's career, a succesful amalgam of acoustic jazz and funky fusion, comes in a gatefold sleeve with new liner notes.

Originally released on Otavan Kirjalliset Äänilevyt (a book publisher) in 1967, the album has since then only seen a very limited CD reissue in the 90s, and has been increasingly expensive to locate on vinyl. The Svart LP reissue has been compiled with full co-operation by Koivistoinen and retains the original gatefold layout, and also features a booklet with photos and liner notes. Valtakunta is a concept album, loosely speaking. The songs of the album are by contemporary Finnish poets - Pentti Saarikoski, Tuomas Anhava, Hannu Mäkelä and Jarkko Laine. Vocalists appearing on the album are Vesa-Matti Loiri, Seija Simola and Eero Raittinen. All compositions are by Koivistoinen himself

With a cleaner and warmer sounding production (courtesy of legendary producer Billy Anderson, album tracked and mixed in Type Foundry studios Portland) yet still maintaining that massive heavy bluesy and melodic tone the band are known for. Lead singer Uta Plotkin delivers her best vocal performance yet. "This is the third in our trilogy of comeback albums. It's the third with Uta Plotkin singing, and the third with Billy Anderson as producer. This one is the most fully developed, with the best sound and songs that we've yet mustered in our 17 years as a band. In many ways, it was also the easiest to make, because we've been working and touring so hard, the communication is flowing, and our close relationship with Billy keeps us from wasting time in the studio. Yes, we could have spent another week fine-tuning and mixing the album into the ground. But we didn't bother. Like all Witch Mountain albums, this one authentically captures where we were at when we made it. Since tracking this in May, we've toured Europe again and dialed the live presentation even further. We are firing on all cylinders. Side one of the new album will crush your skull, and Side two will make you want to slit your wrists. This is honest, heavy, American rock music that keeps one foot in the doom metal tradition, and another stepping beyond the fringe of genre and into the landscape of pure, emotional rock and roll expression. A haunting soundtrack to a short movie by Mat McNerney (Hexvessel/Beastmilk) and Kimmo Helén (Hexvessel), inspired by Newfoundland Folk and the Canadian wilderness. "We researched a lot into Newfoundland and traditional folk music of the past and today, spending a few months looking into and listening to libraries of collected works. I was surprised at how much it reminded me of the Celtic music of my Irish upbringing and ancestry and felt immediate connection to it and an instant ability to relate to the stories. Together with the multi-talented craftsman Kimmo Helén we set about creating a soundscape using only traditional instruments that would have been used in Newfoundland folk. We worked to try to open a portal to dream, nostalgia, a deeper yearning for our roots and the joy that comes from finding your place in the universe. We hoped to be able to help tell Justin's story in as humble and honest way we could and to find a musical voice to his character's inner emotions and journey."
