For the recordings he went to the ESTUDIO7 (Buenos Aires, recorded and mixed by Miguel Mactas) and hires Guest Musicians for the sessions and this is the SHIT!!! This is full blast PSYCHEDELIC LATINO CUMBIA GARAGE with a very cheesy touch of a 70'S SUPERMARKET !!! Hahaha, he has ASIAN MUSIC influences in Thai Cumbia with oriental solos incl. PROG ROCK LSD PSYCH Breaks!! The same in the fantastic song: Falafel King, with a TURKISH DELIGHT touch. He takes things and trows it into the Rolando Bruno shredder and what comes out is super unique. Cumbia Music what could be recorded in 1967 he played countless shows in Buenos Aires, toured Europe and played on festivals: Funtastic Dracula Carnival (ES) Cine Lation Festival Tübingen (GER) Guacamayo Fest with Chicha Libre (ES) Tri Marchi (mar del Plata, AR) etc. and this man is not to stop. The drums are like razorblades cutting scarfs in your belly this is a musical meeting from STOOGES (befor they used heroin) and HAWKWIND (the LSD years), an endless IN YOUR FACE ADRENALINE RUSH at the best concert of your life with THE BEST BEER OF YOUR LIFE. It let you sitting in your chair with a big smile on your face. On the album there are slow songs as well, gloomy dark, lost, almost melancholic, depressive, but never stupid indie crap like a SPACE COWBOY after a night on his long hard walk home through the fog of the morning. Movie Star Junkies are back with a grudge. THE 3RD ALBUM on Voodoo Rhythm Records EVIL MOODS sets things clear right from the title. Lyrically inspired by the pioneers of NOIR/HARDBOILED FICTION like DASHIELL HAMMETT, JAMES CAIN and JIM THOMPSON (whom the eponimous song is dedicated to) as well as by autobiographic experiences, the music also sees a return to the grittier rawer sound that led them across the sun---scorched territories of FOLK and AMERICANA. The album was recorded in Italy on a farm and mixed in BERLIN, features on two songs the percussive work of MAXIMILIAN WEISSENFELDT of HELIOCENTRICS and WHITEFIELD BROTHERS. The band started in TORINO ITALY in 2005. After their debut single and albums on Voodoo Rhythm Records and Outside Inside Records, they toured Europe a couple of times. Together with JON SPENCER BLUES EXPLOSION, Lost Sounds, etc. in 2013 they did their 1st USA tour and recorded a live show for New York's famous WFMU radio station. It's Incredible how special and unique this band sounds and stands out in the Italian and world-wide music scene. They do their very own thing, totaly inspired by books and writers like Herman Melville, Friedrich Nietsche and others.
