JOKE LANZ aka SUDDEN INFANT is extreme body culture performance Art NOISE and BLUES INDUSTRIAL at it's simplest form. Born 1965 in BASEL, Switzerland, currently working out of BERLIN GERMANY and since 1985 involved in many projects like;
Jaywalker, SCHIMPFLUCH--Gruppe , Catholic Boys in Heavy Leather, WAL, and many others in the vein of punk/hardcore and noise. He worked as GARBAGEMAN, Record Dealer, Chocolate Manufacturer or Bike Messenger and besides composed music for the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, VOICE CRACK, Peter Kowald, Shelley Hirsch, Strotter Inst or Christian Wolfarth. So as you may see his NOT A TYPICAL VOODOO RHYTHM ARTIST, that's why he IS! He is one of the most prolific artists working in the border zones where performance and body art meet improvisation and noise. In his Sudden Infant Guise, Joke creates a unique blend of physical sound poetry and epileptic noise bursts, using contact microphones, loops, tapes and turntables. The Music is as minimal or back to the roots as it get's, just from another angle of view, his music is very direct and comes along with at least 20 tons of wierdness and RAWPOWER. For this new album he collaborated with the one and only ROLI MOSIMANN who is one of the co-founders of the NEW YORK NO-WAVE REVOLUTION in the early 80's (he worked together with the SWANS, NEW ORDER, Marilyn Manson or THE YOUNG GODS and recorded that album as a trio together with Christian Weber (bass) and Alexandre Babel (drums)) Joke Lanz is Doing the Elecronics and Loopings , and the result is one of Voodoo Rhythm's most brute and destructive record ever

No one embodied the dream of the Swiss 68 Generation for freedom and self-realization as perfect like he did. But for that Dream he paid with Jail and death. the Documentray shows a Real Unique Swiss Born Bad Rebel His carrier started in the Early 60's as a rowdy and revolutinary and activist and finaly turned into the boss and founder (1970) of the Hells Angels in Zürich, Switzerland. The Documentary shows you lots of old original Film Footage from the Halbstark Erea (Karlheinz Weinberger) and interviews with Family, Friends, Gang Members etc Filmed in Swiss German with English / French subtitles. At the ass end of the planet lies the ancient and secretive Pacific Islands known collectively by Whiteys as NEW ZEALAND. All the way down here the cassette and film production company STINC MAGNETIC, started in 1998 by a young Maori called Dylan Thomas Herkes, better known as THE MYSTERIOUS TAPE MAN. Tape Man began documenting and recording local bands from the Wairarapa, Tararua and Manawatu areas on hand-made cassette tapes recorded one by one in real time and released them on 7 different tapes of 30 copies each. He sold them out of a cardboard box wrapped in tin foil. He describes the pact of Stink Magnetic as "documenting stuff that wouldn't have been documented ". Back than he set---up a office in a old abandoned newspaper building in Whanganui, also a record and tape store and continuously recorded many locals bands. Also ZENO TORNADO from Voodoo Rhythm Records who toured NZ back in the days . Unfortunately one day the Fire Brigade and the Cops turned up and so he moved the Company to the South Island city of Christchurch --- just in the time when it was buried in a massive Earthquake. The entire personal collection of Stink HQ was covered in a two---story pile of rubble for a fews days before most was recovered again and dusted off. Stink Magnetic won at the end and held a 13th Anniversary Festival in collaboration with the Christchurch City Art Gallery. Later that year he put out a bunch more stuff before moving to it's current location in Wellington where his now to celebrate it's 15TH YEAR OF TAPE. Through it's varied and colorful 15 years of exicsting he has release over 55 different tapes, acetates, video tapes, CDRs and vinyl 7's, LPs ! All mostly sold through live shows that tours up and down New Zealand and abroad and now finally available for a bigger World Wide Audience through Voodoo Rhythm Records

Becky is a ARIZONA BLUES WOMAN with a RESTLESS HEART and a WILD LIVE STYLE, on her early shows and recordings she plays guitar, only a STOMP BOX (old record case from beat-man) and a Jingle Ring ( as well beat-man's) and a poison sweet powerful voice that brings the dead back to life and puts shiver down your spin endlessly. All songs written by Becky Lee herself. The record starts off with OLD FASHIONED MAN her ultimate 'hit' song a completly LOST IN SPACE guitar and on top of all her Broken Clear Beautiful Voice .. this is Arizona blues at its best and a ultimate classic song, WATERFALLS the 2nd Song has a MINI GUITAR AMP completly distorted and as well her voice.. we call it CAVE GAL BLUES .. anyway those are the two types of music on the album, once very clear, beautiful and the other distorted and twisted wild.

That Record was a commercial sucess for the band and set them on the map of the music world, the album got licensed and some songs released on other labels as well.. for example the creature from the black lagoon got released by DIONYSUS RECORDS out of LOS ANGELES and they called their style of music GRUNGEABILLY. 1990 - 1991 there was a change of drummers. Pepe left the band ( he plays on the 1st side) and Di Putto ( tibu) plays on the 2nd side.

After many shows in Switzerland they decided to go to LUZERN in the SCHWEINESOUND STUDIOS to record a Full Lenght and spend 3 DAYS RECORDING it and was 1ST LP RELEASED on Bernese Record Label and Shop 'RECORD JUNKIE RECORDS' in a edition of 666 records, they where sold out pretty fast and never reprinted again, record junkie stopped releaseing records after a couple years of existence , Beat-Man was working at record Junkie in the Shop so when it collapsed he formed Voodoo Rhythm records and after 24 jears of silence and hours in the Cellar digging trou original 2" Master Tapes and transform it into 2013 sound format that TRASH BILLY DESASTER Is Available and Reborn Again, the LYRICS are as STUPID as its get and on the Instruments they Have a Standard of some RETARDED CAVEMEN, and i think that makes that Album interesting. TEENAGERS with the Attitude to Go in A Studio and no Borders just the Love of ROCKABILLY And GARAGE PUNK and that Album was Born, PURE TEENAGE TRASH A BILLY !!!

Kristal provided the guitar, and was joined by Dr. Karl Steven ( yes he's a Doctor and yes he did Play for Sweden's Crossover Rap Band: Supergroove) on HARMONICA and STOMPBOX, and Caoimhe Macfehin on vocals.
