The new album of the Swedish singer-songwriter convinces with its deep calm, complex songwriting and intimacy and celebrates its wonderfully vulnerable truthfulness. Christian Kjellvander has recorded "About Love And Loving Again" - in spring 2020, when almost all of Europe was in strict lockdown except Sweden, he went into self-chosen isolation to bring us this album. The result is "About Love And Loving Again", perhaps the artist's most dense and intimate album to date - in seven long and slow songs Kjellvander celebrates tranquility, lets every sound speak, weaves warmly and the melodies float around the very personal and profound lyrics. Christian Kjellvander develops his music out of Alternative Country, lets free jazz and lo-fi flow in, delivers dense singer-songwriting and creates songs that seem like a softly rushing undertow. You may find it hard to believe, but this complex sound, whose dynamics range from almost silence to unbridled expressive wide screen format, was recorded by a minimal trio in a Stockholm basement studio and mostly live. This fits Kjellvander's demand for authenticity, because according to himself, with "About Love And Loving Again" he wants one thing above all else: "to be true and vulnerable.
