Fresh off celebrating their 30th anniversary as one of the most beloved and adventurous bands in rock history, Yo La Tengo announce that they will release Stuff Like That There on August 28th via Matador Records and will embark on a world tour starting September 23rd in Troy, NY (tour dates below). The trio of Ira Kaplan, Georgia Hubley and James McNew now return as a quartet, reuniting with former member Dave Schramm on electric guitar as they revisit the original concept of their beloved Fakebook (a mix of cover songs, “covers” of Yo La Tengo songs, and brand new originals) on its 25th anniversary. This unprecedented live set-up -- Ira on acoustic guitar, Georgia up-front on a small kit, and James on upright bass -- marks the first occasion of this particular Yo La Tengo incarnation touring together (and since it took them 31 years to get around to doing so, could very well also be the last). Tracklisting: A1: My Heart's Not in It (Darlene McCrea) A2: Rickety A3: I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry (Hank Williams) A4: All Your Secrets (remake of track from Popular Songs) A5: The Ballad of Red Buckets (remake of track from Electr-o-pura) A6: Friday I'm in Love (The Cure) A7: Before We Stopped to Think (Great Plains) B1: Butchie's Tune (The Lovin' Spoonful) B2: Automatic Doom (Special Pillow) B3: Awhileaway B4: I Can Feel the Ice Melting (The Parliaments) B5: Naples (Antietam) B6: Deeper Into Movies (remake of track from I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One) B7: Somebody's in Love (The Cosmic Rays with Le Sun Ra and Arkestra) Record Label: Matador/Beggars Group Style: Alternative Rock

Following on from their 2012 LP The Return Of Love, Woolfy vs Projections (a.k.a Simon James and Dan Hastie) return with their third album, Stations, a full length LP that completes the trilogy started in 2008 by The Astral Projections Of Starlight. The concept of the albums by the California-based band are all loosely based on the adventures of the lost astronaut Captain Starlight, who is the hero in a Zazu track, a notorious Balearic rock classic which also set the bench mark for the sound of Woolfy vs Projections: a deep Balearic twilight vibe combined with a classic west coast sound, dubbed disco, beard rock and a heavy funk bounce. Just 10 years ago, Down to the Bone was released by Les Disques du Soleil et de L'Acier - a Depeche Mode tribute album on which Sylvain Chauveau sang on record for the first time. 11 tracks that the musician reclaims in the sober style he is known for leaving just the bare bones of the originals. With the Nocturne ensemble, Chauveau redefines the contours of these hits we all know to provide an intimate and highly personal vision. This critically acclaimed album is an essential record for lovers of Chauveau's minimalist works (The Black Book of Capitalism, Nocturne Impalpable) as well as Depeche Mode's hardcore fans To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the album's release, Ici d'ailleurs will be reissuing it on CD and for the first time as a vinyl LP, with a new artwork. A decade and several albums later Down to the Bone still sounds as one of Chauveau's biggest success, not only a simple tribute which means taking distances from the original tracks. Pop inspiration is still there, but these pieces bring a mediative, even melancholic touch through an acoustic treatment which offers an unique contemplative experience. Let be sure that the care provided to these eleven elegant tracks was the best way for Chauveau to declare his love to Depeche Mode music. TRACKLISTING: 01. STRIPPED 02. THE THINGS YOU SAID 03. re-issue of early 90ies album of the Red House Painters, who were fairly popular in the early '90s, but details on them were scarce. This was all before the Internet, so you basically had what a jewel box told you. It's hard to imagine at this point, but when I first heard them, I didn't know anything about Mark Kozelek, the frontman and mastermind behind the project. I'm not sure I knew his name, and I definitely didn't know what he looked like, or his personality outside of the songs. I also had no idea the band was a quartet, or that they lived in San Francisco (in Kozelek's case, via Ohio). At least for me, Red House Painters existed outside of a scene, too. They had a familiar record label with its own distinct aesthetic, but that was the only real touchstone. Not that any of this is bad. The songs on the first four albums—1992's Down Colorful Hill, 1993's pair of self-titled albums (the first nicknamed Rollercoaster, the second Bridge, after the photographs on their covers), and 1995's Ocean Beach (here packaged with the Shock Me EP from a year earlier)—felt personal and private enough that it was easy to get lost in your own head while listening. They featured heartbreaking, personal lyrics and were accompanied by stark, often naturalistic photographs on the covers. The package came with the crystalline, spacious production and Kozelek's clear, powerful voice, and these things merged in an almost mystical way. The material felt less composed or worked over; it was more like the songs were birthed fully formed. They could drift on for more than 10 minutes, but you kind of gave up on keeping track of this kind of thing. When old albums get reissued, which they increasingly do, the practice usually offers a chance to hear familiar songs again, sometimes with remastering, maybe a few bonuses. Some listeners are feeling nostalgic, seeking to recreate the original context in their minds, while many others are learning about the material for the first time, and aren't all that clear on the context beyond the updated liner notes. 4AD's decision to reissue Red House Painters' first four albums as a fairly spare limited-edition Record Store Day box set (on bronze vinyl) and as individual album reissues on black vinyl offers a unique angle: The band's cantankerous frontman (as we can now call him after that whole War on Drugs debacle) is much better known, and known quite differently, all these years later. Now you do know exactly who Mark Kozelek is, or at least you think you do. Record Label: 4AD/Beggars Group Style: Indie Rock

First vinyl reissue * 24 bit / 96 kHz remaster from the original tapes * New notes by Andria Lisle interviewing Spooner Oldham * Expanded gatefold edition housed in deluxe Stoughton "Tip-On" gatefold jacket Legendary ivory-tickler Spooner Oldham is synonymous with the Muscle Shoals sound. The southern soul pioneer famously backed the likes of Etta James, Jimmy Hughes, Wilson Pickett, Percy Sledge, Aretha Franklin, and many more, but his lone solo album, Pot Luck, finds Spooner in a rare role: front and center. Oldham moved west in the late 0s when the patronage of bands like The Stones and The Flying Burrito Brothers made southern soul the in-demand sound. He joined the house band at Hollywood's Producer's Workshop and was soon playing for The Lettermen and Liberace. While recording the latter, it was suggested that Oldham make his own album. "I don't really think I wanted it so much," Oldham says now. "I think it was shoved on me. We'd got all this stuff set up, and now what do we do?" Pot Luck is very much a record of two halves; Side A is an amalgamation of rarities penned with the likes of Dan Penn and Freddy Weller, while the B-side is a conceptual, seven-song medley covering some of the biggest hits Oldham played on, including "Cry Like A Baby," "Respect," and gospel standard "Will The Circle Be Unbroken." The sessions were largely unplanned. "We just went in," says collaborator Emory Gordy. "That's the best way Spooner works." In 1972, the album was released and quickly sank. Before long, the Producer's Workshop disbanded, too. Oldham carried on regardless, performing with The Everly Brothers, Bobby Womack, Gene Clark, Neil Young and-well, you name it. With this deluxe reissue of his solo LP, it's time for Oldham to get his own dues. "I don't think anybody, anywhere, at any time, has ever heard it," he says. "I'm just happy someone wants to hear it now. Record Label: Light In The Attic Style: Soul

gatefold sleeve + downloadcode "In our 20+ years of writing songs, I've learned that no matter how escapist, divergent, or even transcendent the creative process feels, the result is more beholden to what is going on at the moment. It's hard to admit that one is so influenced by what is in front of us. Doesn't it come from something magical and far away? No, it comes from here. It comes from now. I'm not going to tell you what this record is about because I have too much respect for that moment when you come to know it for yourself." - Alan Sparhawk, Low ,Ones and Sixes takes everything Low excels at and dips it in a heavy gold plating of industrial-leaning electronics. This somehow catapults to new and extreme heights the innate beauty their music has always had. It's a series of contrasts: stunning and menacing, gorgeous and frightening, giving and desperate, and ultimately, unbearably heavy and unbearably light. From one to six and back again." - Dee Dee (Dum Dum Girls), NYC, June 2015 Co-produced by Low and engineer BJ Burton at Justin Vernon's April Base Studios in Eau Claire, WI, Ones and Sixes is the new (and, so far, the best) album from the Duluth-based trio of Alan Sparhawk, Mimi Parker and Steve Garrington. Four guys with a passion for rock n roll, skateboarding and booze makes for a dangerous cocktail ! The story of Le Fox Holes began where many stories do – In a bar! Four men came together from vastly different parts of the world, with only a few goals in mind – to have fun, to play rock and roll, and to not give a shit while doing so. The groove is put together by two diabolical Danes from the small town of Silkeborg – Silky on bass and Ibber on drums. Long time friends since high school, who’ve played in Danish bands like Telestjernen, Death to Frank Ziyanak and The Wong Boys, they make up the backbone and the muscle of the Foxes. The guitar is manned by the original Tasmanian devil, Mr. Yum Yum Saint Hamilton. Having played in bands in Launceston, Melbourne, Goteborg and Bejiing, he’s left more blood, sweat and tears on stages around the globe than he would care to admit. He’s the balls, the tip and the shaft of the band. And the microphone is held by the Juju Fox – an American with as much presence as Old Glory itself. Having been born in the mid-west, but raised in Seattle, he has the wits of a city slicker, the charm of a country boy and the stage presence of a man with nothing left to loose. He’s the mouth of the band. Even though Le fox Holes are all individually from the far reaches of the globe, they somehow found each other in a small city, in a small country in northern parts of Europe. And through a shared love of rock and roll, skateboarding and generally not giving a fuck, they have become one unstoppable freight train of music – the rock and roll band Le Fox Holes Record Label: Mighty Music Style: Rock

LP includes newsprint poster insert + album download coupon!. LP includes newsprint poster insert + album download coupon! In bowling's hallowed alleys, a strike is the minor miracle of all ten pins falling at once. Back-to-back strikes make a double. Do it a third time and you've got yourself a turkey. History will decide which sports metaphor to apply to Mike Krol's first two records, I Hate Jazz (2011) and Trust Fund (2013). But as needle meets groove on Turkey - Krol's first record for Merge - there is no ambiguity. A shiny black ball tumbles past the suburban strip malls of a polyestered Wisconsin and veers precariously close to an East Coast gutter before gathering momentum in a physics-defying sprint for the Pacific. California is where the headpin falls - the right velocity, the perfect geometry, the bowler's intent beautifully realized in a noisy moment of awesome destruction. Mike Krol got his bike stolen and his heart broken. He bailed on graphic-design-as-career. He kept playing drums and guitars, and he kept writing songs about the stuff he hated and the stuff he loved. Leaving Milwaukee for Los Angeles, he took a few years' worth of wrong turns. But when he showed up at a studio in Sacramento in March 2014, he had his affairs in order. Plug the vocal mic into a guitar amp. Plug the guitar into an overheating box of vacuum tubes. Put the computer in the closet. Roll the tape. Record Label: Merge Style: Independent

Keith Levene was a founding member of Public Image Ltd (PiL) with John Lydon. His guitar work for PiL was ground breaking, and much imitated by others at the time, and became the essential sound of the band. Levene was one of the first guitarists to use metallic guitars, such as the Travis Bean Wedge and Artist as well as the Veleno, the latter of which was nicknamed the "Leveno" in his honor. Levene was heavily involved in the writing, performing and producing of PiL's early ground-breaking albums: First Issue, Metal Box and Flowers of Romance. However, he left PiL in 1983 over creative differences concerning the band's fourth album, This Is What You Want... This Is What You Get. Levene has stated this was a very difficult decision for him to make but he felt he had to in order to maintain the integrity of the project. In 1984, he released the original versions of the songs on his own label under the title Commercial Zone which was the original working title of the album. Fast forward 30 years and Keith recently recorded "Commercial Zone 14" via a crowdfunding campaign. Prior to this though, he released “Search for Absolute Zero". A haunting instrumental piece, the album’s title track and other tunes seem to pick up where Commercial Zone left off. Levene has also been writing a film, which has a working title of “Camera Dodgers.” In addition, he has recently collaborated with Mark Stewart, Julie Campbell, and Jah Wobble on other projects. His plate is becoming increasingly full, but that’s the way Levene likes it. "Search For Absolute Zero" is now released on vinyl format via Free Range Product, the new bespoke vinyl imprint from the people who brought you acclaimed punk label Boss Tuneage Strictly limited edition double vinyl, allowing the 60 minutes of eclectic, experimental ambient post punk/dub sounds to resonate to their full maximum potential, this is a must own release. HOLLY GOLIGHTLY IS BACK. With her first full band album since 2004's Slowly But Surely! ... Though the last decade has seen the London-born singer re-locate from the Medway delta to the southern state of Georgia, USA, she returned to Blighty late last year to record a new solo album at London's Gizzard Studios with Ed Deegan at the controls. Holly first came to musical prominence as a member of Thee Headcoatees, a Billy Childish/Thee Headcoats all-girl splinter group in 1991. Four years later she broke away from the garage punk scene with the release of her debut solo album The Good Things, which featured a mix of folk, early electric blues, & '60s beat influenced rock 'n' roll. It's a template that she's honed over the course of 13 solo albums, along the way impressing celebrity fans such as Jim Jarmusch (Holly's track Tell Me Now So I Know featured as the main title theme in his Broken Flowers movie), and most notably Jack White who duetted with Holly on It's True That We Love One Another, the final track on the classic White Stripes album Elephant. Though it's been 11 years since her last solo album, Holly's been busy as half of blues/Americana duo Holly Golightly & The Brokeoffs (The Brokeoffs being multi-instrumentalist Lawyer Dave). The pair have released a string of well received albums, and undertaken many tours on both sides of the Atlantic. Slowtown Now! features 12 songs that will please fans old and new alike performed by the perfect Holly Golightly band line-up of Bruce Brand (drums), Matt Radford (double bass), Ed Deegan (guitar) and Bradley Burgess (guitar) Record Label: Damaged Goods Style: Garage Rock

LP features deluxe packaging including embossed text and printed inserts. Unlike the production limitations that defined the sound of Diane Coffee's debut My Friend Fish (recording drums on an iPhone, using a detuned guitar in lieu of a bass, etc) Everybody's a Good Dog was recorded in proper studios with an assortment of guest appearances, horns, and a string ensemble, finally bringing to life Fleming's deep well of talent and ideas. The album covers a lot of ground from sweet acapella harmonies, to bursts of big brass and Motown swagger, to unhinged psychedelic mayhem. The album's unstoppable grooves and melodies were written with live performance in mind. "I like performing more than recording. It's like throwing a mini party each night that goes really well." says Fleming. When you hear him pouring every bit of his two decades of experience as a performer into these songs, it's clear that Diane Coffee is not a side project, it's THE project Fleming has been working towards his whole life. Destroyer's Poison Season opens swathed in Hunky Dory strings. Dan Bejar's a dashboard Bowie surveying four wracked characters-Jesus, Jacob, Judy, Jack-simultaneously Biblical and musical theatre. This bittersweet, Times Square-set fanfare is reprised twice more on the record-first as swaying, saxophone-stoked "street-rock" and then finally as a curtain-closing reverie. Broadway Danny Bejar dramatically switches scenes with "Dream Lover," all Style Council strut and brassy, radio-ready bombast (echoes of The Boo Radleys' evergreen earworm "Wake Up Boo!"). This being Destroyer, its paramours-on-the-run exuberance is judiciously spiked by his deadpan delivery: "Oh shit, here comes the sun." Like the other DB, Mr. Bejar has long displayed a chameleonic instinct for change while maintaining a unified aesthetic (rather than just pinballing between reference points). No two records sound the same, but they're always uniquely Destroyer. His latest incarnation often appears to take sonic cues from a distinctly British (usually Scottish, to be precise) strain of sophisti-pop: you might hear traces of Aztec Camera, Prefab Sprout, Orange Juice, or The Blow Monkeys. These songs merge a casual literary brilliance with intense melodic verve, nimble arrangements, and a certain blue-eyed soul sadness. Playfully rueful, "Sun in the Sky" foregrounds cryptic lyrical dexterity over pop-classicist strum before gradually left-fielding into rhythmically supple, delirious avant-squall. It's as if Talk Talk took over a Lloyd Cole show. Originally released on a collaborative EP with electronic maestros Tim Hecker and Loscil (the latter's drones are retained here), a retooled "Archer on the Beach" suggests Sade swimming in The Blue Nile, smooth-jazz marimba melancholy dilated by ecstatic ambience. Flecked in heady dissonance, elusively alluring, Dan hymns its eponymous "impossible raver on your death bed" while implicitly beckoning the listener: "Careful now, watch your step, in you go." That's Poison Season in essence: familiar yet mysterious, opaquely accessible. Arch, for sure, but ultimately elevatory. Record Label: Dead Oceans Style: Independent
