The now 12th album release of the band offers Indie-Pop / Wave-Pop at its best. As with the two previous albums, band founder Razmig Tekeyan produced the entire album alone. It contains a combination of old ideas and new songs, which were put together in the well-known THE SEARCH concept. After the purely synthesizer-instrumented previous albums, the guitar was now used again, and the result ties in with the highly acclaimed 2012 album Staying Alive In A Country Industrialized - more distorted guitars and fewer keyboards, in the fat sound of the 80s, inspired by songs like The Warrior by Scandal, and Your Love by The Outfield. The listener can expect a dynamic album with powerful vocals along pop songs, acoustic pieces and mid-tempo rock songs. The album is about ambition versus inhibition, desire versus reality. This release is a comprehensive 3 CD set of the 1981 Scars album, “Author! Author!” plus related bonus tracks. It is the definitive collection of the band’s material. Scars released four singles and one album plus appearances on a couple of compilation albums. This collection features versions of the album tracks, single versions, b-sides, demos and live tracks. CD One features the ten original album tracks of the band’s only studio album “Author! Author!”. It was released on vinyl in 1981 and was critically acclaimed by the music press. There are eight bonus tracks including the singles ‘They Came And Took Her’, ‘Love Song’ and ‘All About You’ and their b-sides – ‘Romance By Mail’, ‘Psychomodo’ and ‘Author! Author!’ Also featured are the tracks ‘She’s Alive’ and the band’s version of David Essex’s ‘Silver Dream Machine’ that both appeared on the 1981 cassette version of “Author! Author!”, and on the 2007 CD release. CD Two focuses on seventeen tracks from the band’s own archives of their original demos including the album tracks ‘Your Attention Please’, ‘Aquarama’, ‘Fear Of The Dark’, ‘Leave Me In Autumn’, ‘Everywhere I Go’ and ‘Obsessions’. Other highlights are their renditions of Mick Ronson’s ‘Billy Porter’ and Jacques Brel’s ‘Next’. CD Three features twenty two tracks of Scars performing live from six gigs spanning the years 1978 – 1981 starting with two tracks from their gig at The White Hart Inn, Edinburgh and concluding with 11 tracks from their 1981 performance in Groningen in the Netherlands. This release has been made with the full cooperation of the band. Each CD comes in a paper wallet which is housed within an outer sleeve. There are extensive sleeve notes plus a UK discography. The Edinburgh band released their first 7” single ‘Adult/ery’ / ‘Horrorshow’ in 1979 on the independent label Fast Product . The band then signed to Pre Records, a sub label of Charisma Records releasing three singles and one album, “Author! Author!”. They were leading lights of the post punk movement north of the border. It was a short lived spell but one with a lasting musical legacy. Disclaimer - We always produce our CD's with the best available master sources. In this instance we have used the best available recordings from the band's archives. During the mastering process, much time has been spent trying to produce the best possible audio results. However the recordings from CDs 2 and 3 date back 40 years plus and reflects the raw energy and sound of the time

2020 release, the first album in 10 years from the British electronic duo. Coming on October 2nd via BMG, the 11-track LP will be titled 'Edge Of The Horizon', and is the UK duo's first album since 2010's 'Black Light' and 'White Light'. ‘Edge Of The Horizon’ features a number of collaborative tracks, including 'Love 4 Now', a new single alongside Todd Edwards. Made with the sounds of Ibiza's PIkes poolside in mind, the track is out today to accompany the LP announcement. The album will also feature Chicago house music icon Paris Brightledge, and Empire Of The Sun and Pnau’s Nick Littlemore. "During those studio days, the rest of the world shuts down," Groove Armada's Andy Cato said on recording the album. "There’s an intensity, anyone looking in might say madness, that kicks in when we’re totally lost amongst the instruments, synths and records day and night. But that shared, unspoken feeling that comes when we both know we’ve got it right cuts through as clear as ever.”

In the wake of Young Marble Giants' breakup, two camps were created, with Stuart Moxham taking the band's minimalist, geometric play to extremes and Alison Statton adding more warmth and feeling to the same basic template and creating something stunning but based in popular forms. Those two opposing - almost knee-jerk - means of forging new paths away from one of music's most astonishingly unique debuts both happened to include Stuart's brother - Alison's former boyfriend - Phil Moxham. In recent years, both artists have almost reversed course, with Stuart proving himself an ace songwriter in classic pop form, and Alison's work again approaching a modern abstraction of quiet folk music - experimental but accessible. But that's another tale. Without a real template to guide him, Stuart's new form of music - as The Gist - was widely regarded as wildly uneven. Stuart admits that he didn't know which way to go, so in perverse style, he decided to take all directions at once. The Gist's original discography stood at a scant 18 songs, but only seven featured Stuart's own voice, often in heavily processed and oddly mixed form. So while The Gist's label, Rough Trade, had the widest array of unique voices in popular music, Stuart buried his own voice. Sales disappointed. The Gist were dropped. A decade later, starting with a critical reevaluation of The Gist's sole album, Embrace The Herd, in an issue of Mojo, the tide begin to turn. Ambience in pop music had enjoyed a cult following from Eno on, but the non-linear structure of many of The Gist's songs had certain parallels with the rise of artists such as Aphex Twin and Seefeel. One song from the era was covered by Etienne Daho in France. Sounding rather advanced for French pop at the time, it ended up selling over a million copies and was later covered by Lush and sampled by DJ Koze with Lambchop singer/songwriter Kurt Wagner. The Gist's story could have been different. Recent discovery of a trove of unreleased songs, versions and demos showed that Stuart had ample material on a par with his YMG work, sometimes in rough demo form, but often in five or six complete, entirely different arrangements. With the 2017 album of unreleased material by The Gist, Holding Pattern, a new audience discovered the band and the release sold out quickly. Interior Windows adds 13 new performances or alternate versions to the band's catalogue, and does the service of finally making both sides of The Gist's first 7" 45 (recorded at the same session as the final YMG single) available again, along with their contribution to the Rough Trade / NME classic compilation C81, and in keeping with The Gist's tradition, at least one song on which Stuart does not appear.

Detlef Diederichsen, born on 11 May 1960 in Hamburg, is a German journalist and musician. He is a founding member of the band "Die Zimmermänner" and was an integral part of the Hamburg punk and new wave scene in the 80s. Since 2006, Detlef has been Head of Music, Dance and Theatre at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin. In 1982 his solo album entitled "Volkskunst aus dem Knabengebirge" was released, which is now being re-released by Tapete Records shortly after his 60th birthday.
