Originally released in 2006, the album blends Swedish-influenced new wave music with a sassy and spunky delivery by vocalist Maja Ivarsson. The album was recorded at Studio 880 in Oakland, California, and produced by Jeff Saltzman (producer of The Killers' Hot Fuss). Music from the album was featured in the television show CSI: Miami, the MTV reality show The Hills and the TV spot for Geico in the United States. In support of the album The Sounds played over 200 shows in 2006, over half of which were in the United States. Upon its release, Dying to Say This to You was well received by music critics. The cover depicts The Misshapes' DJ Leigh Lezark on the left and her friend Alexis Page on the right.

"John Gris," "Party Hellfire", and "Soulful Warrior" brilliantly fuse slow-burn grooves, sly musicianship, and Dr. John's elegantly gruff vocals, conjuring images of dark revelry down French Quarter back alleyways. This was the comeback of 1998, hands down. The Music On Vinyl re-issue also contains the insert with a beautiful picture of the mystic man and credits information.

The album features Robben Ford on guitar, and reached a peak position of number sixteen on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. Yellowjackets is a fun album. The Yellowjackets made a splash with their first record, an accessible mixture of Jazz, Rock, and Funk. Ricky Lawson provides Rock beats to the material, Jimmy Haslip's bass work is as Funk as it is Jazzy. There are some nice, chunky grooves that give the album a sense of substance, a wistful track in "It's Almost Gone", and a neat melody tucked into "Priscilla", all of which contribute to the album's charm.

180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE VINYL 4-PAGE INSERT Small Talk is the seventh album by Sly and the Family Stone, released in 1974. This album was the final LP to feature the original Family Stone, which broke up in January 1975. Singles include "Time For Livin'" (the band's final Top 40 hit) and "Loose Booty", an up-tempo funk track which uses the names of Bible characters Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego as a chant, sampled by the Beastie Boys on their masterpiece Paul's Boutique in 1989. Beastie Boys also covered "Time For Livin'" which was released on the album Check Your Head in 1992 along with a live music video augmented with skateboarding footage. Pictured on the album cover with Sly are his then-wife Kathleen Silva and his son Sylvester, Jr.

After participation in the production and/or remixes of songs by various hip hop and R&B artists in the late 1980s to early 1990s, the duo signed to Elektra Records. All Souled Out was as a warm up to their debut album, Mecca And The Soul Brother. Pete Rock's unmatched production sound is already in place, fullyformed, drenched in obscure soul music samples and rumbling, cavernous bass. Characterized by his trademark sonic signature, muted and phased trumpet, and flute loops, the songs sound regal with endless depth. Of course, C.L. Smooth's lyrics have just as much to do with that regal quality. Standouts include both versions of "Good Life," the irresistible "Go With the Flow," and the anthemic title track, with rapid-fire rhyming from Smooth and a perfectly funky organ riff, but the whole EP is essential

It was Dylan's second consecutive collection of only traditional folk songs, performed acoustically with guitar and harmonica. The songs tend to deal with darker and more tragic themes than the previous outing, Good As I Been To You. World Gone Wrong is an exceptional album, boasting an exceptional set of songs given performances so fully realized that they seemed like modern protest songs. Much of this record is fairly obscure to anyone outside of dedicated folk fans;
"Delia" (covered by Johnny Cash the following year) and "Stack-A-Lee" are the most familiar items, yet they're given traditional readings, meaning that the latter doesn't quite seem like "Stagger Lee." But even if these are traditionalist, they're spirited and lively renditions, and Dylan seems more connected to the music than he has in years. That sense of connection, plus the terrific choice of songs, makes this one of his best, strongest albums of the second half of his career.
