180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE VINYL The Pentangle was the 1968 debut album of the band Pentangle: Terry Cox, Bert Jansch, Jacqui McShee, John Renbourn and Danny Thompson. It brought together their separate influences of folk, jazz, blues, early music and contemporary song-writing. One of the band's most commercially successful albums, it reached number 21 in the British charts. By the time that the album was produced, the members of Pentangle were already accomplished musicians, in their own fields, and had played together in various combinations. Jansch and Renbourn were recognised as solo artists and played together regularly, including their recording of the Bert And John album. McShee had sung folk and blues in pubs and clubs, and had recorded with Renbourn on Another Monday. Cox and Thompson were experienced session musicians and had played together in Alexis Korner's band.

10 INCH LIMITED PRESSING OF 1500 NUMBERED COPIES ON BLACK VINYL. The little elves of Music On Vinyl have managed it in time for Christmas;
they have pressed 1.500 10 black vinyl copies of the exclusive and obscure Jimi Hendrix recording Merry Christmas And Happy New Year. This limited numbered EP contains three tracks. The medley Little Drummer Boy / Silent Night / Auld Lang Syne is recorded in 1969 as Jimi and his Band Of Gypsys (Billy Cox and Buddy Miles) were rehearsing for their appearances at the Fillmore East in New York in 1969. Knowing that this was going to be a special occasion, Jimi readied and recorded this medley of holiday favorites to celebrate both Christmas and the dawning of a new decade. On the flip side of this 180 gram audiophile vinyl is an extended version of this recording. The second track on Side A is Three Little Bears, which was recorded with The Experience in 1968 during sessions for Electric Ladyland. It was originally released on the posthumous compilation War Heroes. If you're a dedicated Hendrix fan, this limited, individually numbered 10 has to be on your Xmas wishlist!

Formed in East Los Angeles in 1991, the group are known for their Latin-tinged rap, which is both melodic and hardcore. Their first self-titled album [MOVLP1338] was executive produced by Cypress Hill member Sen Dog and featured guest appearances by Sen himself as well as Puerto Rican New York City rapper Hurricane G. Their second album, Here Come The Horns, again featured Sen Dog as well as Sen's brother, pioneering Latin rapper Mellow Man Ace. The album was also produced by Sen Dog and Paul Stewart. Music videos were made for "This is LA" and "Here Come the Horns".

Resurfacing, after recording Murda Muzik [MOVLP1663], this time they approached the rap-scene differently, moving away from the minimalistic stripped-down heavy violence hip/hop. Center of attention during the release of Infamy was the beef between Jay-Z and Prodigy. During the time of release Prodigy (of Mobb Deep) had been the center of Jay-Z's attack on his track "The Takeover" and Mobb Deep cut the track "Crawlin" where Prodigy strikes back on Jay-Z calling him "H to the know". Tracks like "The Learning (Burn)" featuring Noyd, "Kill That Nigga" and productions from Scott Storch (Dr. Dre/Nas/50 Cent) for "LiveFoul" still display the dark beats and straight-up street rhymes Mobb Deep is known for. The first single of the album was the track "Hey Luv" featuring R&B group 112. Infamy sold over 800.000 copies in the USA alone, reached #26 in the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and has been certified Gold by the RIAA.

FANTASY" The Live Adventures of Mike Bloomfield and Al Kooper is a double album recorded at the Fillmore West venue in San Francisco. The album is the follow-up to the studio album Super Session [MOVLP1530] which included both Bloomfield and Kooper in addition to Stephen Stills, and had achieved commercial and critical success earlier in 1968. In regards to the performances, recordings and production, in the sleeve notes Kooper describes the difficulties of finding rehearsal space, Bloomfield's insomnia, and the failure of a vocal microphone during "Dear Mr Fantasy". The album is an important, if raw, document of a live blues-rock performance of the period and is notable for not only one of the earliest live recordings by Carlos Santana, but also Bloomfield's debut as a vocalist. Whilst he is not historically noted in this role, in "Don't Throw Your Love on Me So Strong", according to Kooper, "he displays consummate homage to the traditional guitar-voice trade-offs;
a lesson in phrasing and understanding.
