We realize every couple months that after close to thirty years we are still and always will be a band. Still playing the "live" shows, thinking of ridiculous song titles, and speaking our own language in front of other people who could never quite understand. amusing each other, which is more important than any of the rest of it. So, sticking to the process that had worked for us all along, and lifted us to the lofty heights which we had scaled, we convened half-heartedly in Kurt's basement with no plan or idea of what, if anything, we hoped to accomplish in the 12 hours we'd made available to each other. Most importantly, we just wanted to hang out, and by hang out, I mean being in the same room together except for the times when personal lives decreed some of us must vacate the premises. As with our last record, the impossible-to-overrate I THINK THIS IS, Kurt managed to record the damn thing and play lead guitar at the same time, without compromising his integrity or ability. We learned the songs on the spot, which we combined with finishing the actual writing of the compositions, played them a couple times, and moved on. No alcohol or drugs were involved with the making of this record. Really, we couldn't be bothered. We had stuff to do. And we did it Style: Power Pop

Further down the apocalyptic tunnel initiated on the LP "Hypnos", these 3 tracks of dark illumination from Oneirogen (aka Mario Diaz de Leon) were composed as a counterpart to the full length. We find again his characteristic synth and noise used to harrowing effect, full of dramatic textural shifts, while bringing the metallic guitar and voice more to the forefront. His influences include modern composition, underground metal, and noise electronics. "Hypnos" finds Diaz de Leon focused on his style of hallucinatory music. Far from being a follow up to 2009's "Enter Houses Of" (a genre defying album of new classical works), "Hypnos" is a new direction, merging ethereal synths, brutal distortion, noise, and dark ambient. The album takes its title from the Greek god of sleep (also closely associated with night, death, and dreams), and the music itself is an eerie descent into the otherwordly, recasting familiar elements in a revelatory new light. On the opening and closing tracks, hyper fast synth tones create a rushing, cathedral -like atmosphere. Tracks such as "Consumed", "Hypnocaust", and "Kukulkan" feature psychedelic, crushing distortion as their primary focus, taking influence from doom metal, black metal, power electronics, new age, and horror soundtracks. "Cinerum" and "Faithless" are highly structured takes on dark ambient, bringing the listener into haunting, strikingly beautiful realms of isolation, bleakness, and saturated noise textures. MYRNINEREST is the new Hallucinatory Cartoon channelled by David Tibet in order to work, outside of CURRENT 93, with some of the artists and friends he admires the most. ""Jhonn," Uttered Babylon", their harrowing and haunted debut, featuring James Blackshaw and David Tibet, is centered on Davids friendship with, and love for, the late Jhonn Balance of COIL as well as Jhonns death and how it affected the circle of friends around Jhonn. With all lyrics by David and all music written by James, the album was recorded during February 2012 with James Blackshaw on classical guitar and harmonium and David as vocalist. Both LP and CD formats contain the same songs, but with very different mixes by different artists, and the tracks on the 2 formats have also been given different names. The vinyl version is mixed by The Bricoleur and comes in a full-colour, reverse-board, sleeve with a 4-page insert containing the albums text and reproductions of two charcoal drawings by Jhonn Balance.
